Party Time Again!

I love a good themed party, remember my Alice In Wonderland party a few years back? Since Easter is just around the corner, the Mr. and I thought we would party it up with a breakfast and an egg hunt the day before Easter. You know what that means? Project for me! The theme is Peter Rabbit and I am already having fun looking at recipes, games, drinks and a few surprises. Can't wait to get together with friends and see the babies hunt for Easter eggs. Plus, it will be a good opportunity to have mimosas! All my champaign is crying to be be drunk!

Nearing The Finish Line

The remodeling of our kitchen is coming to a close, hopefully, this week! All the cabinets, appliances, flooring and lights are in, today they are installing blue-green aka "Lecente Ceilo" backsplash tile under the cabinets and near the stove to finish off the look. Then there is a lot of touching up to do as well and of course the ever difficult, wainscotting. I am looking forward to having my house back to myself again. So is Moses. I've ordered some bar stools and I found a great place online to buy some curtains. Then its all about moving everything back into the kitchen and finding a new home for everything. So not looking forward to that! Luckily my MIL was in town last weekend and helped with our dishes. I was pretty eager to see how my pretty dishes looked in our new glass window cabinets. I wonder if I remember how to cook? Since Baby girl's birth there hasn't been a lot of meal cooking going on. Time to get back to a nighttime schedule! J...

Double Ear Infection

Ugh! Just when I thought Baby Girl's bronchitis cough was going away, we both caught Daddy's cold this past Friday night. In terms of colds, it wasn't a bad one for me but it sure did stir up Baby Girl's cough. She seemed so uncomfortable that I took her into the doctor's today. He was a little surprised we were still using the inhaler. He seemed to think her cough should have cleared up. So i guess it was good we went to see him. While we were there he checked her ears and alas she has a double ear infection. So the doctor ordered a 10-day course of antibiotics for the ears and the cough. He also told me to give her children's Nyquil at night so she could sleep. Poor girl was up all night this past weekend because of that cough. He also said to use the inhaler 3 times a day. It's 16 days before her 15 month check up so I hope all this medicine clears everything up because Baby Girl has been sick in one form or another since the beginning of Decembe...

A Trip To See The Dinosaurs

It's President's Day and Baby Girl and I have the day off. Daddy, does not. Boo. With the guys still working on our kitchen we needed to vacate the premises unless we wanted to spend the day listening to loud noises. So Baby Girl and I drove to the Natural History Museum. This was actually our second visit. We had meet our friends, The Augusts back when Baby girl was 3 months old. However, I don't think she remembers that visit. :) This time around at 14 months Baby Girl walked the museum. She had a great time running and walking. Not only that, she had fun touching and feeling exhibits. The museum has a discovery center where kids can feel dinosaur bones, touch fur and different animals. Its very interactive and something that a curious little mind would love. Plus, Baby Girl likes being around other children and so she had fun going up to other kids and checking them out. For a holiday, it wasn't terribly busy so it was a great atmosphere to let Baby Gir...

Friendship Day

At Baby Girl's daycare, Valentine's Day is known as Friendship Day. I asked why and the response was "So, that all people can celebrate the holiday." I guess it makes sense since it typically a couples/lovers/romantic day. When we arrived at school the room was decorated like Valentine's Day with a ton of heart everywhere. Valentines were not given out but Baby Girl did give her best friend, Logan one. She snuck it in his mailbox. Baby Girl also sent valentines to several of her baby friends and aunt and uncles. In the past, hubbers and I have made a big deal about the holiday but with the baby girl we kept it real low key. Almost non-existant! hehehe We didn't mind though. I had a perfectly pleasant day though. At work we had a little gathering, a a few boxes of candy were sent our way, then I went over to the daycare at lunch and played this hearts game with Baby Girl and Logan. Overall, it was a pleasant day of love and appreciation for those ...

White Shakers

The white shakers cabinets are going in! It's only been 12 business days and we are already in the installation of cabinets phase! Hur to the Ray! Here are some pictures of what our kitchen currently looks like as of this afternoon.

14 Months

It is hard to believe that Baby Girl is 14 months old today! Time sure does fly after those first few months. Sometimes I wonder if I am still able to care for a tiny little baby. So much has happened, so quickly, that its starting to feel like a lifetime since Baby Girl was a wee thing. Hubs and I met this couple the other day in a restaurant who, after having fun flirting with Baby Girl, told us that they have a daughter who just turned 21 and boy how it went by all too quickly for them. So I am trying to enjoy these small moments and drink them in because before I know it Baby Girl will be in high school and she won't want to have anything to do with me.

Tackling A Whole Burger

This weekend Baby Girl snarfed a whole burger (well, not all the bun but all the meat!) at Bob's, one of our favorite hangouts.

High Five

This weekend Papa taught Baby Girl how to high five.

Picture People

This past week hubbers emailed me with a great dealio from Groupon for taking some baby pictures. I find it ironic that I haven't gotten Baby Girl's photo taken professionally yet and she will be 14 months this week. Me, the Queen of Scrapbooking and the Queen of printing photos has gotten around to documenting her child's professional growth. So when I saw the deal for 8 pages of free photos I took it. Made an appointment this past Saturday. The people at the store were were really nice despite being completely swamped with children when we arrived. People who can stay friendly amongst high maintenance parents and unruly children get a gold star in my book. We took 4 changes of clothes and ended up taking 3 sets of pictures with 3 of the outfits. Baby girl was very good and did her thing for the first two sets but by the third set she was done. Pretty good results for a baby who can't sit still! For $16 bucks I thought the quality would be bad but alas, they ...

I am Crazy for Boba!

Boba is the best! I just love the drink and frankly, milk has never been so fun to drink. Even though I am eager to try new flavors and go into the shop intending to get something new, I always, pretty much, end up with the same drink over and over (Almond Milk or Lavendar Tea). But I guess that is okay, cuz, I love Boba! Most of the Boba shops in Glendale had closed so I was hard pressed to find Boba close to home, unless we drove to ChinaTown. And who wants to go to ChinaTown when parking is a pain in the you-know-what? So imagine my delight when I found out a new Boba shop opened up in Atwater Village, practically, a hop, skip and a jump from my house. I only just found out about it and I have already been there twice in two weeks. If was thinking I probably should have gotten extra drinks for this week. In fact, I am craving Boba as I type.

All About Baby Girl

Gosh, is it ever hard to remember to record Baby Girl's milestones. I have to rely on Facebook, this blog and other social mediums when it comes time to scrapbook. I guess I failed the part of recording milestones in a baby book. Anyhow, I thought I would take a moment to jot down things Baby Girl is doing, likes, and dislikes at 13 months. She started saying "Ut Oh!" a lot. She said Moses' nickname "MoMo" this morning. We are down to one bottle of milk a day, the night time bottle. She is drinking water and milk from sippy cups. She eats every hour and a half to two hours and boy can she ever eat! She is an excellent stacker. She's saying "Mom, Momma, Mommy, and Daddy" a lot. She gets jealous of other kids when I pay attention to them. Her hair is getting longer and curlier. She signs "All done, More, Eat, Milk, and Water." She loves pointing at stuff. She likes shaking her butt and dancing to music. She likes playing with b...

Progressing

So the kitchen remodel is progressing nicely. Each night I come home something new has happened. I've always heard horror stories about contractors and remodeling so its a pleasant surprise to see things happening on a daily basis. The crew has installed new plumbing, new lights, put up new plastered walls, and filled in the holes where the door and window once were. This week the crew started laying down the new tile floor. As of last night there are only 5 more tiles to put in place before the new floor is complete! I picked a paint color for the walls. They even installed a new beam. I guess they didn't have to but the contractor wanted to make sure we were totally safe. They put in a water regulator because our water pressure is dangerously high. Glad they caught that before any major water pipes broke! By the end of the week they are going to begin installing our white shaker cabinets. The space is so big I can hardly believe it! I ams sure half the space will d...
