Annie Lennox Said it Best, Why?

Normally, I am not lacking in things to jot down on the blog but lately, I haven’t found myself with anything to say. That is until this week with the passing of Heath Ledger. Something about the way his story is being handled has disturbed me. When something happens unexpectedly its’ only natural that people want to know “why” and they cling to whatever they can to somehow explain the loss. In today’s easy access media laden world information can get a across the globe in minutes. It is totally amazing to me the news frenzy one person’s death caused. Millions die each day yet the media chose to focus on his story and extract every bit of information possible. It’s funny how the media picks and chooses its stories to make a buck. What is even more disturbing about these “Heath” type stories is the fact that the information delivered changes everyday without regard to the person’s(s) reputation. One day Heath was dating this person and another day he was dating someone else. Oh

The Blah Days of January

It's been cold, it's been rainy, it's been cold, it's been rainy... Everyday it's one or the other in not so sunny Southern California. Haven't written because there hasn't been much to report. The Hub and I have been doing a pretty good job of of trying to take it easy. You never know how crazy life in LA can be until you are dog tired and that is what I was in December. I am glad our holiday season was low key because it gave me the chance to recharge my battery's but the problem is keeping it that way. I see the craziness of work sneaking it's way back in. Can you say 3 summer blockbusters? What helped in keeping our holidays low key was the fact that 90 lb Girl ended his job before Christmas. Not knowing where his next job would come from put the halt on spending money and pretty much put the halt on us doing anything but relaxing at home. During our down time I took up some reading and totally got into feng shui-ing our entire house. A

Getting Organized in the New Year

The Simpson's Movie just landed in my house and I love it! I have never watched much of The Simpson's which is weird because it's been on TV for like, forever! But due to the lack of fresh television (a.k.a. due to the Writer's Strike) I have been forced to turn to DVD's and other TV shows I haven't previously watched. I must say, for a person who has watched about 4 episodes of The Simpson's previously, I am quite taken with the show and now I can't get the words "Spider Pig" out of my head. Besides watching The Simpson's, Brian and I tackled the daunting task of putting all of our DVD's back into the 400 slot DVD machine we own. You see, Brian doesn't like the look of the DVD cases sitting around in piles so he bought this machine to hold them so we don't have to display the millions of cases. I like the idea of not seeing the cases but then there are a few problems. 1.) It's not as easy to open up the machine (as it
