Catching Up With Friends

Finally got to see my old roomie, Maid of Honor, good pal, ole friend of mine, Ms Caroline this past week. She joined me at a Laker Game in downtown. For all who know her, she is doing well. She finally got herself cable TV (she hadn't had it since she moved) so she's been catching up on a lot of shows (I wonder if she watches America's Funniest Home Videos - it's always a treat to watch her watching that show - she's has this uncontrollable laugh that is hilarious to watch and hear - I should tape her watching the show and send it in). Anyhoo, she's been doing a bit of snowboarding and hanging out with her pals. She looked good and seems in good spirits, which is what one always wants for their friends. We gabbed and gabbed for the first quarter of the game and didn't noticed that the 2nd place Lakers were actually behind. The Charlotte BobCats were supposed to be a bad team but apparently they got one over on the Lakers that night. The Lakers n

Annual Tax Trip

Came back from Catalina and found myself dog sick on Monday. Tried to go to work twice but found that going to work and subjecting myself to stress made my sickness worse. So I pretty much spent the week on the couch and drank a bottle of Nyquil in two days, supplemented by other congestion tablets, Ricola and nasal spray. It's Saturday and I am still sick. I feel ok to get up and do things but I get tired easily and my lungs still feel heavy and sore from coughing. The only thing I really accomplished this week besides using sick days was mustering all my receipts together and going to see Frank. Many of you know Frank well. Since 2004 he has been my tax guy and my friends' tax guy. I was perfectly capable of doing my own taxes before I met Frank but there's something fun in going to see him. It's a once a year thing like our birthday or Christmas and hopefully like those two days, you get a present when the day is over. A few things I learned this year. There

My First Anniversary

PHOTOS True to form, my surprised filled hubby made our 1st wedding anniversary exceptional! Our anniversary weekend started last Thursday. As I left for work I noticed a package sitting on the rug before the door. It said "To my wife" and "open me." With a smile I opened the package and the card. Brian always writes the nicest cards. They a make a gal immediately say "Awe" out loud. I opened the gift and it was a GPS system. The card explained that the first wedding anniversary is the paper anniversary. So he said he wanted to get me a map so I didn't get lost anymore (the '08 version being the GPS System). Inside his card it said "more to come." Later that day, I got an e-mail from Brian that had an address to input into the GPS system. But I kinda cheated and looked up the address on Google before putting it into the GPS system after work like the e-mail said. Since I ruined the surprise we met at home before going t

Here is a little early birthday song for you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Sorry we messsed up your birthday last year! But here's to many, many, beer's this year! Happy Leap Year, Crazy Apple Lady!

Last night, me, the hub and YellyB went to this party up in the Beverly Hills hills. YellyB had been visiting us the week before and she mentioned her love for LEAP YEAR and noted that the world doesn't properly celebrate this day as it should be celebrated. I asked if she had any plans but to her disappointment she said no. I just so happened to be invited to a LEAP YEAR party for this guy who was turning 12 and invited her to come along. So last night we meet up at this fancy smancy house with yet another gorgeous view of the city. How do these people afford this stuff I asked myself and later asked the birthday boy (answer: good real estate investments). The birthday boy was a vendor/friend of mine. I had known him since I first started out in the "industry" (a word I found out YellyB hates) and he owns a printing press. He started out like any other person with nothing and has worked himself up. With a few good real estate purchase he now lives comfortabl
