The Dealer

I am worried about my husband, I think he is addicted to Vinylmation. I mean, I already knew this, but I didn't know how bad it was. Yesterday, he tells me he has a dealer. A vinyl dealer. I am a little concerned. This past week hubby met a man who has some very, very, good deals on vinyl's. Apparently this guy's dad is a toy dealer who gets a lot of free toys. So the son who is looking to make some $$ on the extra's has been giving my hubby some amazing deals. It's like "The Godfather," deals that are too good to pass up. Hubby's "toy dealer" texted him yesterday so we are going down to the OC tomorrow to pick up another good bargin. Anyone need the 1955 TicketBooklet Series??? Limited Edition. We have 3 sets now so looking to unload 2 so that the one we bought would be free. Now, these deals will only be good if hubby gets on eBay and sells them. I don't mind expanding my vinylmation collection as long as he is

7 stages of grief

I think, I accept, that life can deal you sucky situations and I have hope, that I have enough vicodin to get me through February. Today is gonna be great now that I have had that break through.

We're Sick

Our collection of Vinylmation now numbers over 100! We are sick puppies my hubby and I. Sick. Sick. Sick. Sick! Hubs has now bought 4 trays of Vinyls. This past week I was able to buy a set of Animation 1's. I have the whole set but the chaser. I am still trying to figure out how they put the random chaser in the box. There's a specific order and we are slowly but surely figuring it out. Sorry, but I can't say what we have learned as we don't want to ruin the fun for everyone else. That and the big Disney eye is watching. Plus, it has taken us a couple hundred dollars in buying little boxes, to figure that secret out, so I am not going to tell you! Here is the next series I am excited about, Disney's Villains. These are being exclusively released at Disney Stores on January 31st. Guess who will be standing in line, early in the morning? ....Hubby. I guess working nights has some benefits (for me). The Chaser in this series is Jafar

Animation Series 1

After checking our local Disney Store a million times, I finally walked in this week and discovered a couple of boxes of Animation 1's out on the shelf. I figured after my bad luck of late, the universe owed me something to smile about and boy did I ever smile when I saw those vinyls on display. Taking the knowledge that I know about their packaging I bought 12 boxes of vinyls. The only thing I can never be sure about is the chaser. I got all 11 of the below figures. And I ended up with 2 Hercules and no chaser which is the pink elephant below. Actually this time Disney made it a little fun and put 1 chaser plus 3 variants of the elephant, meaning there is a pink, dark pink, clear pink and clear purple elephant. Their is only one chaser per case so you never know which one will be in there. Basically, it's Disney's way of making it harder. It's really Genius consumerism on their part. As a marketing person myself I have to really appreciate what they got

I Don't Want To Go To Work Today

The thing about only having 10 sick days a year is that you have to plan how to use them which you are not supposed to do because they are sick days and you are supposed to use them when you get sick. So what happens when you fit the definition of sick but could easily take more than 10 sicks days? Hum. Tough one. Technically due to my situation I could be sick all week and all next but instead, I find myself only being able to take one day yesterday and one day Friday when I may or may not have to check into the hospital pending Thursday's test findings. If I use all10 days this month I won't have anything left for whatever may happen in the next part of the year. And considering what has already happened I better save some days. So that means I need to suck it up and go to work today and have a million people ask "How are you doing?" Is it okay to say, "I am doing fucking shitty, thank you?" Probably not. What is worse is that we have our h

"Things Happen For A Reason"

When you are a Pollyanna like me, meaning, a person who likes to look on the bright side of things, your heart wants to believe more than anything that the phrase "Things Happen For A Reason" is true. But really it's a phrase that is used to comfort someone when they are down or when something doesn't go their way. I just so happened to have something that didn't go my way this month and it has taken me to a dark place. Since I am not usually one to dwell in dark places it's been a really emotional time for me. I don't exactly feel like the shiny happy person I was only a month ago and that makes me sad. Sad that I am not happy and sad that a little corner of my heart has perished. When you have discovered that a little bit of your heart has died it can be a dreadful thing. But I am sure you know this, as dreadful things happen to perfectly happy people all the time. The problem is the shock of it all. To think one thing one day only to know

Purge Day

After the week I had, today I just felt like getting rid of shit. If I have to pick up the pieces of my life after the news I heard on Friday, then,.... well, my pieces are gonna get a whole lot lighter. So today, hubby and I cleaned the house and went through every nook and cranny and purged ourselves of stuff weighing us down. Hubby took all the purged crap to Goodwill, where hopefully it will be recycled and start its new life helping someone new. PURGE, PURGE, PURGE...

You Have to Try It To Believe It

Yesterday, we went down to Anaheim for two reasons: to buy Vinylmation and to attend our friend Page's birthday party. We had a great day at Downtown Disney purchasing and trading vinyls and afterward we hit up Slater's 50/50 Burgers for the birthday boy's dinner. All I can say, is that their burgers are fantastic!! As usually hubby selected the ultimate yummy item on the menu, the peanut butter and jelly burger with bacon. Might sound a little gross but it was delicious!! Really delicious in fact.

House Guests Who Beluga

This past week, we had some house guests. We don't get very many over nights guests so it was very exciting. In addition to washing the sheets, we had to make sure all the batteries were taken out of the clocks in the guest room :) The San Diego Hinojosa's were in town for a training class the Mrs. had to attend in Glendale. After spending the day in Glendale I think we may have converted them to being LA Eastsiders. They seemed to discover what we discovered 4 years ago and that is the East Side is pretty cool. Perhaps if they ever come to LA we might be able to convince them to come over to "our side" as opposed to the Regul aka Westside. We are currently working on Jung to move over here and if we can secure the Hinojosas, well, the East Side would just be livelier with Beluga references. You are probably like "Beluga" references? Let me stop and explain. The 81st Street boys have taken to messaging each other daily or should I say hourly o

The Sugar At Work This Week

Work is making me fat and here is why!

A Whole Tray!

Babe, the kind man that he is, got me a whole tray of Vinylmation! So I have 13 figures to trade at Disney this weekend!

Wowsers!

I just found out that my college roommate and very good friend, Carmen is having a baby! They have been married 11 years and at the end of June 2011 they will have their first little bambino. What a shocker! But a good one.

TGIF

I am not sure about you but I am glad its Friday! Why does the week after a holiday always move so slowly? I guess our bodies get used to being lazy. I expect next week to be pretty busy as my new boss who was absent from the US since Thanksgiving will be back. Plus, we have our worldwide conference coming up at the end of January and we are preparing materials for that. This year is going to be especially crazy since we have literally tripled the attendance and a lot of people who worked it last year are now gone. I am sure my current good mood will expire shortly. This weekend hubby and I will be in search of vinylmation and Mel's Dinner. Thinking we may go down to Hollywood to use our Mel's Groupons that expire soon and then stopping by the Disney Store at the El Capitan to see if they have any unique vinyl for our ever growing collection. Yesterday hubby bought me a whole tray of them that were half off. Since we are going to Disney World in a few months he thought I could

Mega Dreams

This week the multi-state Mega Millions Lottery got up to $375M dollars and had a lot of people dreaming and wondering what if? I know I was one of those people. What would it be like to suddenly find yourself with millions upon millions of dollars ? What would you do with it? Would you help people? Help your family? It’s funny but next to every one of those huge jackpot stories there is another story that outlines bankruptcy. Such was the case this week. Under the story about the 2 people who won the $375M pot there was a research story about how people who win a million or more in lotteries end up going bankrupt 3-5 years after winning. I am thinking are those people plain crazy? Secondly, what are they spending the money on? Anyhow, with all this lottery talk it got me thinking about what I would spend money on. Here is my list in no particular order: 1. Payoff mine and my immediately family members homes and provide college funds and throw in some fun money. 2. Bu

My 1st Yelp Dinner

Besides Vinylmation my other addiction of late is Yelping. I love trying new places to eat and writing reviews. It would seem that I have gotten myself entangled into a small clique that likes to get together and go out and try new restaurants. This week I got my first invitation to join their small group for dinner next Friday. So what does this mean? That I am finally going to meet some of the people that I am friends with on Yelp. See friends on YELP are different then friends on FACEBOOK. On Facebook, I know all the people I am friends with. On Yelp, people can ask to be your friend because they like to read your reviews. I have about 50 friends on YELP. Some are my real life friends but to tell you the truth, I have been having a lot of fun talking to people I don't know. The girl that invited me to diner next Friday, Lucy, was the very first Yelper I met in real life. I met her at the Yelp Elite Christmas Party after becoming an Elite Member in December. The per

First Look

Here is the first look at R2D2 the Vinylmation for STAR WARS. Isn't this sweet? Now who wants to be my collecting buddy?

I Want These!

My Vinylmation craze continues! Disney just announced today on FaceBook that the Star Wars Vinylmations are coming soon! I so can't wait!!

Burrr It's Cold

I think hell has frozen over! Can you believe it? It's actually snowing in some of Los Angeles! Today there are several schools that are closed. Those kids must be so excited over their snow day. Unfortunately the snow didn't come in close enough to Hollywood so I had to go to work but I am happy some kiddies of LA are enjoying another vacation day. I hope they are making some snow angels. Well, it may not be snowing in Hollywood but it sure is freezing. I think the high today is in the 40's. I am sure tired of all this rain and cold weather it seems like forever since we saw the sun. Darn that Regul for making it go away. He hates the sun. I am positive Jon is responsible for all this cold weather in LA. I am just sure of it.

Media Library

Hubby spent all day today hooking up his new Media Library in the living room. Good bye Replay, 400 dvd disc changer, and regular DVD player! Make room for the Mac Mini and a terabyte of space that will now hold all of our movies, television, music and video games in one place! Can you say sweet? Also, say hello to a new remote control that so far, appears easy to use! Hurray for making things easy for the wife to use! I am very excited about this new library as it seems so much easier to find movies. That and the new library totally eliminates bulky DVD cases! Hurray for that. Now we will store all those boxes away, keeping our favorites out. Yay for technology!

Happy 2011!

Hubby, Moses and I would like to wish everyone a healthy and prosperous 2011! Here's hoping this decade is better than the last!
