Ahoy Matey!

Ahoy Matey! Me and mi first mate are knee deep in ye sand. Playdate today with Logan at the Pirate Park in Pasadena.

First Mani Pedi

it's the longest I've ever seen her sit still!

American Girl

So it would seem that Penny has a Fairy Godmother. On Friday, a box arrived on our doorstep for Penny. She opened and and discovered an American Girl Doll. She doesn't really know what American Girl means which is probably a good thing. She did however, hug that doll and welcomed it into her family of baby dolls. This doll has outfits and shoes and Penny immediately changed her out of her casual outfit into a fancy dress. She also enjoyed changing the shoes. She has been pushing that baby in her crazy fancy doll carriage (given to her by another Fairy Godmother) all over the house. Here are a few pictures of the "joy" as she experience her doll for the first time.

Travel Note

Lake Powell, Arizona. I'm putting it on my travel "To Do" list. Hubs and I collect art from Peter Lik, and he has a photo very similar to the one posted below from a friend who visited this weekend. I'm not sure what it is about it but its intoxicating to me. Peter's print is crazy expensive and not to mention, huge (where would I put it in my house?) but none-the-less, those caves are calling to me. Something I need to see for myself one day.

#23 Disneyland

After Penny's cousins left, we took a big long nap. It didn't look like we were going to do anything but around 2pm, Penny asked if she could go to Disneyland. We usually go first thing in the morning so it was odd but we didn't have anything else to do so hubs and I looked at each other and said "Let's go to Disneyland." So we arrived at 4pm which is normally the time we leave the park for the day. It was fun going later in the day with energy and also, to see what the park is like at night time or as the sun sets. We accomplished quite a bit in 4 hours. We saw the tiki birds in the Tiki Room, saw Penny's favorite, Ghosts, climbed the Tarzan Tree, went to Pooh's honey world, rode King Arthur's Carousel, Pinnochio, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and spinned around in the Tea Cups. We even had dinner in a new place (for us) called Carnation Cafe. See our pic below. And hubs met Aladdin!

Fun Weekend With The Cousins

This weekend Penny's cousins from her Dad's side came for a visit. On Saturday, she took them to the LA Zoo, to Kid'S Space in Pasadena, and out for sushi at Kabuki in Pasadena. She even took Jaxon to her swim lesson on Sunday morning before they left to go home. There was tons of screaming, tons of running, and tons of fun had by all. And of course, someone left a shoe behind.

Moses, A Senior?

So, Hubs to Moses to the vet on Friday and he had the full work up, teeth cleaned, nails clips, blood drawn, check up, stuff I won't mention, and as Hubs was signing him out, the front desk woman said "We like to see our "Senior Dogs" every 6 months. Um..."Senior"…Moses is a senior? Highly disturbing.

16 Year Vacation

Did you hear the news story about a couple from the UK, who left for a week long vacation on their boat but ended up sailing around the world for 16 years? They just got back into port the other day. How amazing is that to sail around exploring for 16 years? That is a true adventure!

Another One Off The Market

This morning, I'm very happy for my friends, Loo Dog (Lisa) and Tim who were engaged in Kona, Hawaii this past weekend!!! Yay! 4 bridesmaids down (as in married or engaged) and 1 to go (although its gonna be really hard to get Krueger married off unless one of those romance novel guys comes to life! I helped Tim get the ring size with an elaborate story. In the end, he did what I told him to do in the first place and stole a ring from her room. Ha Ha! Well, regardless, another good friend is gonna be married and I am so very happy for them! Can I dare hope they get married in Hawaii so this Hawaiian loving' Momma can go back?

Best Buds

I Knew It!

We were at Disneyland today (no big surprise) and we were talking about movie star sightings and I tell hubs its weird in all our times at DL we have never had a movie star sighting. Flash forward to lunch. We go to the Plaza Inn sit down at a table and Penny stars flirting with the people next to us. She is all up in their business. They were nice to her and not annoyed. We ended up chatting throughout our lunch about little odds and ends. The girl mentions her hands are sticky so I grab Penny's wipes and offer them to her. We chat some more. They get up to leave and we say good bye. Penny hugs and kisses the girl. We finish lunch shortly after. Afterwards, we start talking about those two as there was just something about them. I told hubby, I think they were famous. There's something about the girl's voice and there was something about the guy under the sunglasses. We spend all day thinking about who these two look like. We get home and hubs looks on Twitter on the DL st

Crushed Chalk

Tonight when I drove up our drive way I accidentally ran over a piece of Penny's chalk. She later found the crushed chalk and showed Dad. She was so mad she called me out to the driveway and showed me the chalk. That is when she looked at me and said "Bad Girl."

Mork From Ork

Something truly shocking happened today. This afternoon I received a text that actor/comedian, Robin Williams had died. Celebrities pass away all the time but for Robin, who was only 63 to pass away, sadly due to suicide, is just unbelievable! It's heartbreaking. I grew up with him. I never met him but he was a part of my life. His movie Flubber was the first film I marketed when I came to LA. A true talent, a great comedian, a man whose movie roles evoked such emotion, to be gone from this earth is just saddening. He had been suffering from depression. It's hard to believe that someone who had such an impact on so many lives would get to a point where he would take his own life. Mr. Williams, I'm sorry you suffered. Please know you were truly great. A source of great joy. You made a lot of people happy during your time on earth. I hope your soul is at peace and that you are finally happy.

RIP Robin Williams

You were truly great…It was heartbreaking to learn the news of funny man, Robin Williams death today. His death is so shocking because he was like a friend to all of us. He was a man who was always in my life. He always made us laugh. May he rest in peace.

Oh, The Irony!

Okay, ever since I was kicked out of the mountain, I have a problem with the mountain's movies. I really don't want to think about the mountain but their marketing campaigns have been massive for three films this summer, so I can't help but be reminded of them at every turn! The third film,is everywhere. Is it ironic that my daughter has taken to to watching the cartoon on TV this past week? Can't they leave me alone in my home?

Good Bye Maui! Mahalo!

We had an incredible time in Maui! It truly is one of hub and I's favorite places. We could tell that Penny loved it too. We were only able to grab some breakfast at the hotel before having to leave for the airport for the long journey home. Even though its only a 5 hour flight it took all day to get home. We left at 10am and didn't get home in our beds tip after midnight! Before turning in our rental car we did pick up some tasty sandwiches for the flight home at Leoda's and I think that will become a tradition cuz, man, those sandwiches were really tasty! It was nice to get home and see our best pal friend, Moses! We had a big love fest. There were lots of hugs and kisses for Moses. Maybe someday Maui won't have a horrible quarantine rule that pretty much excludes taking your dog on vacation with you. We'll hope.

Happy 39th Birthday To Me!

From now on, I should always spend my birthday in Hawaii because it's just awesome to be in Hawaii on your birthday! I woke up the morning of my 39th year of birth and we meet our friends, The LaScala's at Sloppy Cakes for birthday breakfast. We also ran into some of Dan's (the grooms)family. I had marked it as a place to visit but had delegated it to a maybe list. It wasn't looking like we would make it there but the LaScala's suggested it as a place to meet up to celebrate my birthday. I am really glad I went because the food was delicious! We later found out, that everyone who was there for Bree's Wedding tried and loved Slappy Cakes. It must have been the lemon curd sauce! Hum? ...Basically, the theme of this restaurant is pancakes. You can either make them on a griddle at your table or you can have the kitchen make them. We elected to have the kitchen make ours and we made the right decision. Hubs and I decided to share two orders of pancakes. So we

Going Back To Olowalu

To be able to go back to he place where we were married 7 years ago was amazing! Bree and Dan's wedding was, perhaps, how I envisioned mine before the rain happened but I am glad the rain happened because my wedding was very different from Bree's. So instead of experiencing the same wedding twice, I experienced two wonderful weddings. The feeling of the place was familiar but yet brand new. I was very glad to be "the guest" this time around. I am so glad I bought a fabulous dress from Antropologie to wear. There is something to be said about fashion and feeling fabulous in it. I wish I had a pair of the pink Kate Spade shoes that Bree was wearing under her wedding dress. Speaking of clothing, her dress was very pretty, super lacy but elegant. I had a very simple, beach-y dress. I guess maybe that is why I loved the dress I wore to her wedding because it was long and flowing. It was my second chance to wear a fabulous dress. We were the first guests to a
