Soda Pop

Today I have to go to the tax man. Yuk, receipts are everywhere in my living room! I hope the government is kind to us this year. This weekend has gone by so fast! Friday night we managed to meet up with Charlie, Krueger, Jane, Toby, Danielle and a slew of others at Islands in Burbank. Toby, Danielle and I treated ourselves to mani-pedi's after work. It was sooo incredibly nice to have someone rub my feet and arms after a very long week at work. Charlie and gang went to see "I Love You Man." All of us met up at Islands in Burbank. We tend to meet up there whenever Charlie is in town. My hubby was able to get out of work early and joined us. We literally closed down the place and were asked to leave at 1AM. Everyone seems to be doing well. Just busy at work. Saturday, we chilled with Toby who is staying with us for a few days while he has a gig in LA. We went to the Burbank Animal Shelter again to look at dogs but they were all big dogs this week. Then w

Whose That Mysterious Man?

So today I had enough of being too busy and grabbed my co-worker and made her go to lunch with me. I needed to get away from the stupid blockbuster movie that no one wants to approve a poster for. The restaurant we ended up at wasn't too busy so I was rather surprised when the waitress sat us at this little table for two that was practically an extension of the table where the only other two people in the room were sitting at. It kinda seemed like the two men who were sitting at the had asked the waitress to seat some girls next to them. Our table was so close to these guys that I knew they were going to try and talk to us and I hate talking to strangers. Now the minute we walked in I could have sworn I have seen the older guy before. I was trying to figure out if he was famous or jsut someone I have seen at the restaurant before. He had that cheesy, dirty old hollywood producer thing going for him. He is the type of guy every person would notice. He had that "

March Madness..... and Randomness

And I am not talking about basketball. Ever since I got off Jury Duty I have been in a whirl wind. My boss, who I have been with for 5 years, left the company so I have been busy trying to make my way through a "restructuring." I tried to sell the folks on making me a VP but was told they don't want to be "top-heavy." It is also one of our crazy bus times at work as this is the time we are getting ready for our summer blockbusters. And everything is due cuz everything needs to get printed and shipped so it can be up in movie theatres for Easter worldwide. And of course nothing is getting approved causing more overtime but we are not allowed to spend any money because the economy is in the toilet. At one point this week, I was working on 14 movie posters all at once (that is a lot). Then big bosses from London flew in for an emergency filmmaker meeting this past week. And let's just say, that meeting didn't go well and additional work followe

Big Surprise! Big Sur!

So I wake up on our anniversary and totally oblivious walk right past my first anniversary gift. I walked into our kitchen where I find the hubby cooking breakfast and he asks if I found my gift. I said no and return to the bedroom door to find a necklace tapped to the ceiling part of the door. Hanging off the necklace was a sign that said happy anniversary. On closer inspection there was also a key attached to the necklace. I take the key to the kitchen and ask the hubby what I do next. He said "You already walked past the second thing" and told me to sit at the breakfast table. So I do and that is when I see this homemade box with four compartments and four locks. The key from the necklace opens one of the compartments. Inside the compartment was matching earrings to the necklace and a letter that said to pack my bags cuz we were heading to Big Sur! While i have never stayed in Big Sur I have driven through it and it was a memorable drive because we were almost out of

Dog Gone Kids!

When are you going to have kids is a phrase we hear a lot. And today, I am happy to tell you that the hubby and I have finally decided it's time for us to share our life and open our hearts to yes, a chi...nope, a dog!! Yep, one day soon a little happy, bouncy, puppy will grace our home. Our doggie search really started to come to light about 6 months ago when a gal at work asked me if I would adopt this cute dog called Dillon. I looked at Dillon's picture a million times, later renaming him Bob Dillon over a period of 3 days. We really wanted him but wasn't sure. When the hubby and I decided to take the leap little Bob Dillon was gone and we were sad. Then we started going to pet shop's in the mall a lot. Several times we wanted to take home a little rascal but something always stopped us. Well, a couple of weeks ago we talked about kids seriously but we both found that subject to still be super scary and that is when we decided to turn our attention to a

Getting Our "Social" Back On

Most weekends the hub and I do stuff together. It's not because we are lovey dovey (although sometimes we can be) but because when you buy a house in the valley and your friends live all over the place and no where near to you, you have to expect you can't see people all the time. Then when you spend all your time with your spouse people must think you don't want to spend time with them so they don't call. I had one friend tell me, "oh, I don't call because I figure you two want to be alone." I tried to explain that is not true. She didn't believe it until she got a boyfriend and then we really didn't see each other for a long time! hehe Add in that the hub and I are the largest movie buffs and spend a ton of times at the movies on the weekends, you sometimes suddenly find yourselves not being very social. Plus, when you live in LA you have to make plans in advanced, likely really far in advanced. My one girlfriend is always completely b
