Geocahing in Hawaii

We are so bummed Moses can't come with us to Hawaii so hubby made this Moses cache we are going to take with us and hopefully our Moses will get to travel the islands more than we do!!

Hello Fiber

So I went to the doctor last week and had some blood work done. Luckily my Thyroid, blood sugars and "good cholesterol" are all okay. This past Monday the doctor called me and told me that I had high "bad cholesterol." I have a score of 124 when it should be below 100. He basically told me to watch what I eat and exercise more. I have been doing a ton of research this week and have started to eat healthy. I found this really cool website from the USDA that helps a person find out what they should be eating. You should check it out and make sure you on the right track. It's called My Pryamid. Basically you built a chart according to your age, sex, height, weight and amount of physical activity you do. If you want to loose weight you can change the amount of calories you eat each day. I found the site to be most helpful and I hope to use it a lot as I try and get more healthy. http://www.mypyramid.gov/mypyramid/index.aspx

The Playoffs

This week I was lucky to score two Laker Playoff tickets!!!! I know you think I would take my hubby but I didn't instead I took my girlfriend, Caroline who loves, loves, loves the Lakers. (Don't worry hubby wasn't offended) She watches every game of the season. To say she was excited when I asked her is an understatement. She met me at my house yesterday and we drove to Staples Center. We grabbed some food and then proceeded to find our seats. And guess where they were? On the floor!!!! Were only two rows away from Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise,Jeffrey Katzenberg, Bruce Willis, Andy Garcia, Danny DeVito, Bree's son on Desperate Housewives and of course, a Lakers Staple, Jack Nicholson. We took a ton of pictures but of course they are all on Caroline's camera so I don't have any to share yet. It was perhaps the most exciting Laker Game I have ever been too. The last quarter started out really close, within one point of the Suns but the Lakers pul

Dinner for Schmucks

I just had to use this title because it's a movie I am working on with Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. This past Saturday our friend, Jon Regul celebrated his 35th birthday at a restaurant called Craft in Century City. Six of us went to dinner and it was a fun "grown ups" night out at a fancy restaurant. This was part of an invitation we received from Danielle but I had to amend some lines because some of the plans changed: Once upon a time, in a land far far away (depending on where you live) there lived a handsome and regal prince named Jon Regul. Prince Jon was madly in love with a fair maiden named iPad. He tried to get an iPad at the Grove but the Jonas Bros got in his way, he tried at Century City but was 3 hours too late, alas its not his birthday quite yet, perhaps the queen of "Bad Dates"land, Danielle, will slay the dragon and find him one? Stay tuned. Note: Via FaceBook we learned that the Regul Prince still hasn't gotten his iPad but his pal Matt

I'm a Yelp-er

One of my favorite sites online over the years has been Yelp. Yelps helps people find restaurants, businesses in their area and not only that it helps you find places to try if you are out of town. I have used it for years but it never occurred to me to sign up for an account. So finally I signed up last Friday. I have been having fun rating and reviewing businesses and restaurants I have been to. I find the site to be very helpful in recommending new places to try or businesses to check out. Hubby found Moses' daycare on Yelp because a person we knew wrote a high review. So we took Moses in and he has been loving that place ever since. Yelp is sort of the same idea as Facebook you collect friends and you can read their reviews and lists. You can give feedback on their reviews and nominate them for awards. Who better to trust then your friends' opinions when it comes to spending your money? Anyhow, I really love this site. I went through and 'bookmark

Thank God It's The Weekend!

Has this been the longest week ever or what?? Anyhow, I am so glad it's weekend time. I can put the Blackberry down and totally chill. The top thing on my mind for this weekend is sleep. I am so looking forward to sleeping in. I seriously hope Moses is in the mood too or my plans could easily be destroyed. Speaking of MoMo, he hasn't been feeling good this week. The poor little guy is itching all over. No fleas just itching. Anyone got any ideas or solutions as to how I can stop this? I am thinking he has allergies because the same thing happened last summer. We sprayed him with "Neem" which is highly recommended by this pet supply store but other then smelling like orange blossoms I get the distinct feeling it doesn't work cuz, he is still scratching. Oh Mo, how can I help you? So this past week I got bored of Bloggers blah designs and decided to finally try and change my look. After investigating online I immediately found that I needed the

What R U Buying at Costco?

Like a lot of people in Southern California, the hub and I frequent Costco several times a year. I remember moving here and Jeff Daly asking me if I had my Costco Card. Why? I said. I live alone. Why do I have to buy in bulk? Well, I might not have had the need to buy in bulk before but I sure do now that I have a house and a dog who requires lots of chicken treats. The hub and I try and keep the visit to once a month because frankly who can visit that place not spend at least a Benjamin? It's a very rare trip where we spend less than $100 dollars. I did hear on FaceBook that Jerome and Ryan were able to go the other day and only spend $14. But surely, that must have been some kind of freak of nature visit or the place was too crowded to go into any isles because getting out of Costco for $14 buckaroos is a rarity. I love going to see what is new. I will walk up and down almost all isles to find the unique new thing that I need. Okay, not need, mostly want. This trip

Happy Mother's Day!

To all my moms, relatives that are moms, friends that are moms, neighbors that are moms, co-workers that are moms, people who are like moms to me, to all the moms in the world....HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY from Lollipop, Hubby and MoMo!

Game Night Reunion

It's been a few months since we have had game night with Caroline and her friends. A few years ago, Caroline's friend, Cindy started a game night which mostly consisted of Caroline and Cindy's co-workers. The hub and I were invited and we must have played good because we have been invited ever since. Typically game night occurs once a month for a few months and then there is a break because we all get busy or something. This time the break lasted a long time, as our last game night was in November! I really enjoy game night. Everyone usually makes something and contributes to a yummy dinner. Last nights dinner consisted of a shrimp salad, bbq chicken wings and garlic bread. Preceded by some great appy's aka appetizers. And of course, there is always a well stocked bar full of beer and cocktails. Even though it's called game night there is only one game we ever play and that is called Catch Phrase. It's Cindy's favorite and since she is the host,

So Proud

Yesterday at my hubby's work they had their second Grilled Cheese Invitational but this was the first time hubby participated. Last time he was a judge. All his co-workers were invited to get their grilled cheese on. There were 3 categories people could participate in. "The Traditional" (you know the regular bread & cheese category), "The Kuma Sutra" (anything can be in the sandwich as long as 60% of the sandwich was cheese), and "The Dessert." Hubby decided to participate in the last two. For the Kuma Sutra he made his famous mac n cheese and then sliced it into blocks. He put it on Hawaiian bread with butter, more cheese and BBQ rib meat and then he panini'd it. For the dessert competition he made these ricotta cheese, ice cream, and blackberries, then he battered the sandwich and deep fried it and topped it with powered sugar and a blackberry sauce. Now my husband is a good cook and I knew he'd win and sure enough he won bo

The Summer Movie Season Is Here!

Go see Iron Man 2 this weekend!! Cuz the first blockbuster of the season is here. Happy summer, movie people....to my movie theatre peeps... You better pop a lot of popcorn and prep those nacho trays tonight cuz Tony Stark is gonna sell out!

17 Days Til Maui!

So I just booked a 5 line zipline tour for hubby and me in Maui. And I also made reservations at a new restaurant (well to us), called Merriman's on the ocean. YELP has been such a big help to me on this trip. Even though this will be our 3rd trip to Maui there is still a ton of stuff we haven't done. And according to YELP there are so many good places to eat that we just won't have the time to try them all! So two reservations down, what is next? I am currently debating whether to splurge some more and make spa appointments at The Grand Wailea Spa, which according to Travel Magazine, is THEE best spa in the world! I might just have to go and drag that hubby with me for a couples message on the ocean! Can I also say, that American Express points are awesome! Just got a free rental car with hubby's points. Sweet!

3 Years of Lollipopland

Using my favorite book making program, Blurb, I have put together a book of the past 3 years' worth of blog entries from this website. People roaming the Blurb library can order a softcover, hard cover with dust jacket or a hard cover with image wrapped of my book. Apparently, I have written enough blogs to make a 350 page book!!! Whooo Hooo! I always did want to be a book author and now for the very low price of $70 buck a roos you can buy my book full of spelling errors...but chock full of pictures of what happened in my exciting life the last 3 years. Yeah, I know, you are terribly excited and can't wait to go purchase my book...Not! But at the very least it will make a nice coffee table book for me. I really didn't make the thing to sell but rather as an experiment of what I could do. More than anything it was fun to make. Basically what Blurb did was pull all of my blogs from Blogger and put them very nicely into a book. I went through and added some touc

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

So the people from Sanger (Terry and Chris) we met last week at Tim's party texted me on Saturday and asked if we would like to go to a Dodger Game with them on Sunday. They were pretty cool at the party so we said yes. So we headed over to their house which is only a mile down the street from us and saw their place. It was almost like our house. They even have a dog, named Sadie who was this adorable doberman. We headed to the game and had fun drinking beers and bullshitting throughout the game. It is so awesome to not only meet people from Sanger but the fact that they live close to us and are able to hang out on a moment's notice is super cool!! We are going to get together and have the dogs meet soon and also make a trip to the Eagle Rock Brewery. Me like making peeps in our hood! Here's some pics from the game:

Henry's Black is Smelly

Earlier tonight, the hubby and I attended his wrap party for the TV Show he has been working on at Evolution, a production company in Burbank. He has been cutting web episodes for a reality TV series for a few months now. Tonight the production company was celebrating the wrap of the second season of "My Black is Beautiful." The show has been shown to the network a.k.a. BET Television and the first episode airs tomorrow. I am very proud of hubby, he's been with company for 6 years now and I can tell from everyones comments that they think he is great guy. Even his bosses say good things are in store for my hubby. This is all very good news. What I really wanted to say to his bosses were "Please pay my hubby the big Editor bucks soon so I can quit and live off his big time editor salary!" hehehe Anyhow, I didn't say that. After hubby introduced me to several of his co-workers we grabbed some margaritas. They were very yummy and hit the spot, af
