A Good Day

To my sheer and utter surprise, my boss called me in his office yesterday and handed me a confidential envelope with my name on it. He had a smile on his face so I wasn't scared. He said he was pleased to inform me that with my position at the company I am eligible for bonuses. He said not to expect it every year (I didn't expect it this year!) He congratulated me on my hard work and said good job and enjoy. I said "really?" I didn't have the foggiest idea that I was eligible for bonuses but I sure will take them! I took the envelope back to my office, opened it up and yelled "Holy Shit!" Called 90 Lb Girl and told him his budget for our anniversary weekend getaway had just increased! So cool! I had no idea. Then after that happened one of my suppliers called and said that this person who I work with at my company came in and saw my poster and said that it was really one of the best things they had seen in a while. My supplier told me he h

Long Week

Last week, my average work day started at 6AM and lasted till 10PM and boy, was I ever tired on Friday! We had a huge convention where 150 delegates (marketing managers) flew in from all over the world to see the studio's 2008 line-up. It was hard work but the convention was fun. I got to see some really, really, really cool movies. To top it off we even had directors and movie stars come in and explain to the managers how the films were made. Sometimes our line-ups can be questionable with a few stinkers here and there but all the movies we watched this time were really good. I was very proud to work for the studio I was at after seeing all the great films. Kinda makes feeling stressed out all the time worth it cuz, you know our work is not going to be in vain. Because my work is stressful, I often forget that I am sitting on a lot that makes movies. Don't get me wrong, I like what I do for a living but sometimes I just have so much to do I think I am going to exp

A Sad Journey to Sanger

Last Thursday, some sad news took us on a trip to Sanger. The hub' Grandfather (mum's side) passed away. We hadn't been to Sanger since Thanksgiving so it was nice to see people but it was a sad occasion nonetheless. The dark occasion got the hubby and I thinking about our death's and whether we would prefer to be buried, cremated, or something else. I must say, I don't relish the thought of being in a the ground and don't even want to think about being cremated. Howard Stern happened to be on in the car as we discussed this topic and weird enough, he was talking about donating your body to science. The hub seemed to be interested in this possibility. He was against being buried and preferred cremation or an at sea burial. I couldn't decide myself. The ground seemed cold, cremation seemed too hot, and I didn't like the idea of people looking at my body and studying it or having my body float around the vast ocean. The human side of me is scar

Remember CLUE?

Got home from a trip to Sanger last night and we were desperate to see the gang as it's been a while since we have seen them. Luckily for us, Regul, Danielle, Toby and Montez were available and came over to the house. We grabbed sushi at this place near our house and caught up. It was so good to see everyone and hear what is going on in their life. The stars must have been aligned that night cuz my hubby, 90 lb Girl, announced he would not eat chicken terriyaki, that he would try sushi! He has had a bite of sushi before but not for his entire dinner! I was so very proud of him. I am sure he won't be eating it all of the time but he is now open to it so that is a good thing. After dinner we all came back to the house and drank some beers and played CLUE. I hadn't played that game in years. I had gotten the game for a white elephant party and was bummed I couldn't play it cuz, you needed a minimum of 3 people to play. Not having a third on hand too often I kn

So if you are a reader of this blog, you can now leave a comment should you like. I didn't even know it was hard to leave a comment cuz, I wasn't sure anyone read this other than my dad (hi dad!). But alas, this weekend someone called the hubby and asked about the comments and why they didn't work. Technically the setting was on but it was on some weird setting where you pretty much had to give blood in order to leave a note. Anyhoo, the comments are on until the robots start finding me. If you want to leave me (a.k.a. cutie pie/lollipop) or the hub a message you can. If you have any advise on how to get rid of barking, pain in the ass dogs leave that too. Tonight the hub brought home some super duper ear plugs that are supposed to block out 33 decibels. I guess we'll see how many decibels that dog is tonight. A few people have emailed me about what to do for dogs and I have been meaning to write back but alas, work is super crazy. Tonight has been the first

What to Say?

Lately it seems it's been an effort to jot down a few words. I am not sure what I am about to jot down right now. So let's see what will come out. Let's see what has been going on with me and the hub? I was hoping to sleep in a bit more today but alas, the barking dogs have got me on a schedule and I awoke darn early today. The funny thing was they didn't bark this morning. I think on the weekends the owner keeps them inside. Must be the owner has to go to work and leaves the dogs outside on the weekdays. I am still trying to piece it all together. This weekend I hope to write a note to a few of the people who live behind me. I find sometimes people don't know they are doing anything bothersome until you tell them. I am hoping this approach works. Last weekend we caught up with our pals, Charlie and Krugs and their gang of friends from two TV shows they used to work on, Ellen/Christopher Lowell. It was cool catching up with everyone. Charlie flew into tow

Stop Barking!

I can't believe it's February already? The other day, I was invited to a party on March 15th and I had to hesitate on my yes response because I realized my 1st year anniversary was on the 13th and I may be doing something the night of the party. I can't believe a whole year has gone by since the hoopla of Hawaii and Fiji! The Hub & I have been mostly busy with work. We both have been working until 7-8pm each night.I am grateful the hubby is back on days though. When we aren't working we are cooking food, watching TV, reading books (he reads comics and I finally got to the last Harry Potter book) and trying to sleep. I say trying because behind our house there are two dogs that constantly bark. The one dog is somewhere directly behind my house and the other is a few doors down. Guess when they decide to bark? At the convenient hour of 4AM. Apparently they have enough bark in them to last till 6AM. I can't imagine there are enough damn birds, squirrels
