The Weekend is Over Already?

Either it was the Zyrtec or the fact that I bought airlines tickets to Maui on Friday that has put me in a lot better mood. I decided to splurge and buy some $14 hay fever medicine and I must admit to Zyrtec working alot better than the previously 24 hour non-drowsy medicine I had been taking. I still have a bad cough though that I am sort of worried about. I had a pretty good weekend. Due to the allergies I have been spending a large quantity of time indoors on my MAC. I am in the middle of working on several scrapbooks at various companies. I am working on a Friends book, a Girlfriends book, a book on my dog Moses, a Halloween book and a book on my brother's wedding. I am completely in love with this book making program called Blurb. Personally, I think this is the best program out there. You get the best quality book for the best price. I have printed through Shutterfly and although I give them props for good themes, fun designs and a good end product they are st

Real Estate

...Lollipop will now be playing the role of a Real Estate Agent. A few weeks ago some good friends contacted me and asked me if I knew of anyone who wanted to buy a house in Eagle Rock. Two years prior they had moved to Colorado Springs as a test (wel really my friend appeased his wife's whim) and after falling in love with the place, they decided it was time to retire and live permanently in Colorado Springs. They had made some really good investments in life and so they had the luxury to say "Ce Le Vie" to Los Angeles and go live their dream in peaceful Colorado. Immediately, I couldn't think of anyone so I just put it in the back of my mind. That is until I remember the Forsgren's and how they were looking for a house in the valley. Then all of the sudden I started thinking of other friends who might be interested. After gathering up all the information on the house from my friend I suddenly found myself making a flyer and taking a tour of the house to

First Timers

Despite me having a brain cloud I have been able to keep up with my friends. Though the encounters involve a lot of sneezing. This past week our friends The Delanos drove all the way from Sanger to come to a Laker Game with us. A few months ago when they were making their annual pilgrimage to Newport Beach the hub mentioned how I sometimes get sporting tickets. They like most people said "Oh, if you ever get extra we wouldn't mind going. " Now a lot of people say that but when you actually call them to go they either can't or don't want to. But when Brian called Jon he was beyond excited. The game was on a Wednesday night and they agreed to come. I couldn't believe that they were going to drive that far on a school night but they did!! Actually it was really, really fun to go to the game with them. As it was their first time they were excited about everything. It's fun to be around people when they experience something for the first time.

I Have a Brain Cloud

Remember that movie JOE VS THE VOLCANO w/ Tom Hanks? The one where his doctors diagnosed him with an incurable brain cloud and thinking he is going to die, he agrees to a crazy scheme by this rich guy who asks Joe to throw himself into a volcano? All so the rich guy can sell some island people some orange soda? Well....I have been feeling exactly like Tom Hanks aka Joseph Banks lately. I try with all my might to stay positive, be nice to people and work hard but lately I don't know why I try so hard? I know, you are thinking, oh she's depressed but really I am not. Rather I am disappointed by the world and I am disappointed in people. Growing up you are told to have a dream. Work hard and you will get it. But its not true really. You work hard and then you get screwed by the man. Or you work hard and have to screw others to get ahead which I am not willing to do. Remember the opening scene of the movie where Joe/Tom Hanks is walking into work and everything is

Hello? Is Anyone Out There?

I used to follow a lot of blogs but it seems no one is writing anymore. FaceBook and Twitter must have killed the medium. I don't blame the blog writers, keeping up a blog is a lot of work. Sometimes I feel like quitting myself. Mainly because I can't really talk about certain things on my mind. You never really know who is reading your blog and heaven forbid anyone find out how crazy I really am. I ponder going back to my journals so I can write about the depressing thoughts that plague my mind from time to time. But then turning on the computer is so much easier than pulling the book out of some secret drawer and sitting down to write. And after all, the depressing thoughts usually go away leaving me feeling silly for feeling that way in the first place. So what's the sense of writing down the silly thoughts anyway? I do know one thing that will never be fixed whether I go back to journaling or continue blogging and that is I am and forever will be a horrib

Happy Easter Everyone!

It's Easter time again so you know what that means? Catching up with my pal Kruger and her crew for Easter Brunch at the Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas. Krug's has been hosting this annual event for years (back before I was married). It's always a good time and it's always at the Sagebrush Cantina except for that one year. Several years ago she started the after brunch hike. Because you know what all that food can do to a person's figure? That and everyone was complaining that they would go into a food coma after the brunch. So she started the hike to ease the settlement of the food. Krug's makes the event extra special with Easter baskets full of chocolate and toys. Just when I thought the Christmas candy is gone, leave it to Krug's to replenish the supply. Happy Easter everyone. Enjoy the day.

Chipolte's iPhone App is Awesome!

Perhaps the best application for the iPhone or iTouch is the Chipolte Ordering app. After a really long day of landscaping we were beat and we were hungry. Not wanting to make any food we decided to go out. But after a few minutes we couldn't really decide where we wanted to go and to add to that quandary we were tired. Then we remembered the Chipolte App on our iTouch's. We ordered our favorite burritos plus a soda and chips and guacamole and hubby went out to get our food. When you use the App you get to walk in the store and cut in front of the big line and pay for your meal immediately. It's incredibly awesome. The whole process took 15 minutes from ordering. So people if you have an iPhone or an iTouch, I highly recommend you get this app for times when you are too tired to cook and too tired to sit in a restaurant. Man is it ever awesome!

LOLLIPOP'S MOVIE REVIEW: Hot Tub Time Machine

(For Montez): So finally I got to see this movie that I've heard so much about. It's the latest movie from the always in financial trouble MGM. Is it me or is it pretty rare these days to get to see a good comedy? I am trying to think back over this past year as to a good comedy and all I can come up with is The Hangover from Warner Bros. I have to say The Hangover was one of the best written comedy scripts in perhaps a decade. Anyhow back to Hot Tub Time Machine. I mean the name alone is funny. And knowing that it stars John Cusack you know it has to be kind of decent right? I knew going in this was going to be an ode to the 80's and it deliver on that point. From the walkman cassette's, to the crazy leg warmers and the cheesy sayings "Where's The Beef?" This movie had 1986 covered. While this movie isn't as good as The Hangover, you will enjoy it if you go in looking for a good time with no expectations. Also you need to forget any no
