Bali, Arriving at Desa Visesa

After 35 hours of travel, including Uber to LAX, LAX time, Flight to China, layover in China, flight to Bali, wait for cab and an hour and a half drive to Ubud, we were pooped! We arrived in the airport at 8am in the morning.  It was a pretty view of the ocean as we flew in.  P was excited to see land as she knew we were close to our destination. The airport was nicely decorated for the upcoming Hindu holiday.   Immigration was pretty easy.  When we collected our luggage we found our driver. Well, we thought he was our driver,  he was the guy who worked for the company we hired and he was waiting for our driver to come.   So we waited with him by the curb while our driver got to the airport. One thing was immediately apparent upon going outside, the humidity.  For me, it was being back in Michigan on a summer day.   We immediately wanted to start shedding our clothes which were heavier due to flying cold planes. Our driver, was a young guy.  Not a big talker but we found out it

Happy Birthday, Sort Of...

So we boarded a plane on December 21st and we landed on December 23rd, thus skipping over December 22 which just so happened to be hubby's birthday.   I think he was okay with it being that he was going to Bali for his birthday and for Christmas.   On our way to China we did pass the North Pole which was pretty cool. Actually, when we landed in China for our 7 hour layover we were able to celebrate his birthday with a beer in one of the lounges.  I have to say lounge life is pretty nice.   The lounge was decorated for Christmas so it was festive.  It also had clean bathrooms, free food and big comfy chairs to lounge in.    You could even take a shower and get a massage.  Just no Facebook.  There was free WiFi in the lounge but no access to social sites except SnapChat.   Even some news agencies were blocked out, a sign that you were in a democratic state anymore.  Our pal, Toby had suggested we get a certain travel credit card for this trip because it not only paid for Global Ent

Destination Indonesia

Today marks the first day of P's big journey overseas!  Yes, we are heading to Indonesia to go to Bali!  We are beyond excited to be traveling to such an exotic destination.  Thanks to the "Housewives" for giving my hubby the inspiration!   What?  Yep, hubs work gave him the inspiration.  He spent a few weeks editing the ladies who took a trip there and it pretty much inspired this trip.   Well, we were going to go to Japan but everyone said not to go to Tokyo Disneyland over Christmas so this was the next choice and most definitely, the best choice! We purchased the trip back in October.   P had 3 weeks of winter break and hubby found out early that his production would be closed for 2 weeks and I am working freelance, so we decided it was that now or never kind of thing.    After weeks of getting vaccinations, gathering up medicine for a travel kit and purchasing random things like a waterproof phone case, compression socks and tons of wipes we found ourselves rea

Dearest Wish

Tonight, one of my dearest wishes came true. Ever since I can recall I have wished to see my name in the credits of a motion picture. Tonight, I watched Mary Poppins with my daughter and while we were watching the credits Penny says, "Look, there is mom's name!" Sure enough I saw my name on the big screen! .....Whoever Kelly Lee is I want to thank you for working on Mary Poppins as my learning to read daughter, read my name in the credits because of you.   # MaryPoppinsReturns

Tam Holiday Dinner

It’s not the holidays without our annual Tam O’Shanter dinner with Sandy and Marlene. Is that Walt Disney’s table? Mmm turkey dinner, oooooh the stuffing!

Preschool Moms

Being a mom is seriously the hardest job I have ever had. I’m so grateful to have mom support that gives me the strength to carry on when you r not quite sure you r doing the best job. Love this group of moms and their love for their kiddos and families.

Steak Dinner

For 8 years, we have been eating steak with friends to celebrate their Dec 21 wedding anniversary and hub's Dec 22 birthday. We started at Ruth Chris and switched to Steakhouse 55 a few years in.  Along the way, kids were added to the mix and tonight, kiddo's birthday.  Tonight, over filet mignon and NY Steak Strip we celebrated and had fun. With 3 events we got 3 free desserts which covered dessert for everyone!  Didn’t even have room for our beloved 24-layer chocolate cake!  Good times with good friends!
