Night Night Everyone

90th Birthday

We hit the road this past weekend driving to Sanger to attend hubby's grandfather's 90th Birthday party. The most notable thing that happened (well of course Lou hitting 90) was that Penny choked on a piece of candy while her and I were sitting on Rod and Rosie's dock. I wanted to freak out but forced my self to slap Penny on the back. Luckily between the slap and her throwing up a bit it came out and we were both freaked the heck out!!! After a minute of freaking Penny started crying that she lost her candy.

TGIF

Met up with some of the 81 Street Gang tonight as Mr. Hinojosa was in town for a work meeting down from Portland. We met at a TGIF's in South Pasadena despite it being Wednesday and in lieu of a Bennigan's. Penny of course took a shining to her favorite, Bosco, Danielle.

The Force Is Strong In Anaheim

A couple months ago hub asks me if I want to go to a Star Wars convention. I grew up on the movie and like many others in my generation I have a great fondness for the film but I wouldn't say I am immersed in the culture. I don't read the books, play the games, or watch other TV shows based on the movie. I just love the movies and have seen them a million and one times. Being the Disney fan that I am and because I love movies in general, I said yes. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Come to find out that hubs bought the 4-day pass aka the pass good for every day of the convention. I wasn't planning on going everyday but I managed to attend 3 of the 4 days and allI can say is WOW! It was utterly amazing to see everyone in their costumes (some super elaborate and movie quality) walking around the Anaheim Convention Center. All I wore was themed t-shirts and my stormtrooper earrings. What was apparent from attending is the LOVE people have for Star Wars

Best Dog Ever

Penny's Night Out In Hollywood

Last night after work I took Penny to a Throwback Thursday screening of Disney's Robinhood at Disney's El Capitan. It was nice to have a little Mother-Daughter outing on a weekday as most weekdays we are at home doing the usual thing. We arrived at 6pm and got our tickets from Will Call. With each of our admissions we got popcorn and drink. The theatre was beautifully decorated for Cinderella with flowers hanging everywhere. They even had a big display case with the gorgeous dress the lead actress wore in the film. Penny started out in a booster seat but ended up in my lap which honestly I didn't mind. It was nice to hold my girl close. It was funny to watch the film because I have heard the music and dialogue play a million times from Penny's iPad but I haven't ever watched the movie so it was new yet familiar to me. After the movie we were hungry but it was late so even though we had popcorn we walked ourselves into the ice cream shop next door and ordered

Moses' Friend, Lucy

Lucy is the prettiest Golden Retriever! Soft fur and a friendly smile. She belong's to one of Penny's friends and she just so happens to remind me of my childhood dog, Luke. Lucy was walking with her mom and apparently, she stopped when she got to our house and jumped to try and see Moses. Lucy's mom sent me the following picture of her. See, dogs are intelligent!

No More, Please!

This year we decided to stay in town for Easter, so we signed up for brunch with my good friend Krueger. Pre-Penny days, the Sagebrush Cantina's Easter Brunch was an annual Krueger tradition, as well as, the after brunch hike in the Calabasas Mountains. To my surprise, Krueger, who is notoriously late in all things in life, sent out an invite for this year's brunch a few weeks early. Color me surprised, I took note and decided that this would be the year that we would return to the annual Easter Brunch with friends. Other people must have taken note because she found herself with a party of 11 and when she went to make a reservation for those 11 people she was told they were full. So in true Krueger style we were going to have to wait for a table so our noon roll call would be pushed. The old me would have been mad but the new me just let it go as it was another Krueger-ism that is never going to change. We arrived a little late assuming it would be a while before we got

Easter Weekend

Easter Weekend started on Friday when I got out of work earlier than expected. With a little time on my hands I headed to Target to see what goodies I could find for Penny's Easter Eggs. Of course, when you go to Target you always spend more than you should so I came home with lots of goodies for the girl. When Dad got home he took Penny on a walk so that gave me a chance to fill the eggs up with the goodies I had bought. On Saturday, we headed down to Anaheim for yet another visit to Disneyland! We started out with lunch ate The Earl of Sandwich and I have to say, I really enjoyed my lunch! In an effort to take control of my food intake I had a chicken and berry salad which was light and not to mention, tasty. I think that lunch made me a fan of that place and compared to food inside the park it was relativity inexpensive. After lunch we walked through downtown Disney making a pit stop at D23 so that Dad could take his chances with Star Wars C3P blind boxes. I'm afraid he

Morning Snuggle/Struggle

I am trying to jot done all the cute things Penny does because the girl is just growing and growing and like parents of older children say, the time goes by quickly. One of my favorite Penny things of late is my morning snuggles with Penny. She wakes up and comes to me and jumps into my arms and we snuggle for two minutes. She kisses me, I kiss her and we caress each other's faces. Its my favorite moment of the day. Watching her look me in the eyes is seriously the most precious thing in the world. And then she says "Mom, I want a snack." Snack = Struggle in what she will eat for breakfast. She wants chocolate and I want her to eat breakfast food.

Still Going

I know you are dying to know what is happening at my work…so here goes...it would seem our little company is getting a cash infusion and we will live to see another day, or at least, two more months. So life is not coming to a halt just yet. We've added yet another person to our mix, so the next few months at work should be interesting. The story continues…for now. P.S. this isn't an April's Fools Joke.
