Ladies Who Are Coocoo for Coco Puffs

So it has come that point in my pregnancy for baby showers. I didn't even think there would be one but I find myself going to three! One with family, one at work (Nov 10th) and one thrown by my LA Friends (Nov 12th). I am very lucky to have such generous friends and family. The first shower was thrown by hubby's family, in Fresno, this past weekend. It was great fun to be part of everyone's excitement for our little girl. My mother-in-law, who is in all respects missed her calling in life as an event planner hosted the party with hubby's two aunts. She not only did the food which she is known for, and the decorations which she is known for but she took it up a notch and handmade baby girl dresses and used them as centerpieces. To say the word stunned wouldn't even cover my surprise! The shower took place at hubby's Aunt and Uncle's house which is located on a pond in Clovis. It's where most of hubby's family events take place, like my brother and si

R U Ready?

I can hardly believe I made it to my third trimester! It's all the more joyful considering earlier this year, I had a miscarriage and I thought I would never have a child considering my endometriosis, which I was diagnoses with at the age of 21. Carrying around that first pregnancy will likely stay with me for the rest of my life, as that baby girl was due Sept 11th but at least it's true what they say, time heals pain. It makes this pregnancy all the more precious as I know how precious life can be. At any given moment life can and will expire. So as my pregnancy continues, I do take much joy in this baby girl and thank God every day that I was able to have a second chance. Only 8 weeks left and I pray to make it to the finish line with baby girl in arm, breathing, heathy and most of all, alive, to enjoy life's wonders. I always knew I wanted a child but you know, when you grow up and you have a career and a husband who has a crazy career just like you, you begin to wo

What should Moses be for Halloween? His daycare is having another big party on the 30th and of course mom and dad are taking him again!!! He won best costume last year for a large dog which included the right to gloat and a certificate for a free nail clipping (he enjoyed it). We have the following costumes: Choices for this year: 1. Blow Fish 2. Hot Dog 3. Big Purple Grapes 4. Submarine 5. A pony with a little girl rider (Basically he would be the pony with a little fairy princess on his back) Past Costumes 1. Pumpkin - he was this last year 2. White Rabbit - he was this for hubby's birthday party

Blowing Kisses

Yesterday, I went in for one of my Gestational Diabetes checkups aka meeting with the nutritionist and also getting an ultrasound and I was able to see the face of my precious baby girl for the first time!! It wasn't very clear because I guess things were getting in the way but alas, I finally was able to put a face to the little alien that has been kicking inside of me these past months! The perinatalist doctor said to me, "Doesn't it look like she is blowing a kiss to her momma?" Sure enough, it does indeed, look like she is puckering up in one of the photos! So can't wait to meet my little one!!! The only good thing about having GD is I am able to get more ultrasounds and see the baby more than I would if I didn't have it. So I am at least greatful I get to see her a few more time before the big day I meet her in person!

Partied Like It was 1999

It's only Sunday morning and I have partied more this weekend than I have in a long while. Friday night, hubby and I went out with my girlfriend. Then last night, hubby and I went over to the Westside for our Best Man's (aka Mr. Hinojosa's) 35th birthday party and stayed out til 2:30am. It was good to spend time with friends we haven't seen in a long while such as the 81st Street Boys (a special appearance from Montez via Portland,OR), the Montgomery's and Ms. Coto. Life has been pretty busy. I never really did get a beak from the summer blockbusters at work. The movies and the work just kept coming. With the news that our London Office is closing came even more work. Guess what happened when an office of about 100 people find out they are being laid off? ....They stop working. Hence making getting information very hard. Anyhow, it is what it is at work. We still don't know much more information other than the London Office is closing on Dec 9th a

Gestational Diebetes

So around weeks 24-28 OBGYN's have their patients get tested for gestational diabetes which is a special kind of diabetes you get while pregnant. It usually goes away after birth but it does put a woman at higher risk for getting diabetes later on in life. So I thought I would be good and fast for 12 hours before the test. I am not sure I was supposed to do that but I did because I am always failing the pee tests my doctor gives me when I go to monthly check ups. Mainly because I go to the doctors at 9am and I eat a bowl of cereal at 8am. So basically they were never really concerned. Well, I have never been a good test taker be it in school or elsewhere so it's no surprise that I failed. But boy, did I fail miserably! Normal is 65-139 and I got 204!! Some people say I should demand a retest because half the ladies on my forum say you are not suppose to fast before the 1 hour glucose test but other ladies said their doctor said to fast and 12 hours was okay. They say by not eat
