Something To Look Forward To

Sometimes I wish I lived closer to my brother, Matt and his family. I am completely in love with my little nephew, Will and I am not able to see him alot. Here is a new picture of the little guy. Isn't he so sweet and doesn't he look like a character? Uncle Brian and I are looking forward to spending some time with him next May when the Reasner's go to DisneyWorld. It will be little Will's first trip and I just know he is gonna love it!! I am so happy I will have experienced both of my little nephew's first Disney trips. We had such a blast with Clayton. Even though Will will be younger than Clay I just know he is gonna love it. From all the stories I hear, Will is a pretty alert little guy. Wait till he gets a load of Disney!!

My Visit to STREET

My recent review on YELP. Yesterday I had the great pleasure of dining at Street, a restarant that foodies may know because of Chef Susan Feniger who appeared on the TV show Top Chef Masters. Located in a very nondistinct brick building on Highland I almost drove past it! After finding parking on the street I met my party of 4 inside and were seated. Shortly after arriving the place filled up. The inside is small but very hip with modern decoration. You can choose to sit inside or outside on a patio. As it was a whopping 100 degrees our party stayed inside. The inside isn't overly large so I would really suggest making a reservation ahead to insure you get seated. The first thing we noticed on the table was a small round dish containing what can best be desribed as Curry Rice Krispie Treats. Round in size the krispy balls almost looked like a woman's braclet sitting there in the dish. Of course we were immediately intriged. I am not so much a fan of curry so ultima

Sometimes You Want To Go

...Where everybody knows your name... And you know where that place is? Well, like the popular TV show CHEERS, it's the bar! Yes, my local bar is getting to know my credit card. I am not one to hang out in bars a lot. Well, not since my swinging Burbank days....back when I was an assistant and stayed out all night and came to work with blood shot eyes and a hour of sleep...you know, back in the days of my 20's. So for me to be at the bar once is a feat but twice in the same weekend is pretty darn amazing! I walked in on Sunday and the barkeep gal said "Hey, blondie. Weren't you here yesterday?" "Uh, hah!" I reply. So how did I get to the bar 2 times in one weekend? It was one part foodie, one part beer pong and one part girlfriend. FOODIE: On my quest to becoming a foodie, I have found that there is more to life than McDonald's. Gasp. I know this is a crazy thing to say considering I was eating McD's since I was a wee wee girl. But

The Early Riser

... always gets the eggs!!! Do you know how friggin hard it is to get these eggs? Every time I go to the Farmer's Market in Montrose the "egg lady" is always sold out. She gave me her card once and told me to call her by Wed and she can reserve some eggs for me. Well, since I woke up at 8:30 am on Sunday, I thought that I had plenty of time to get to the market by 9AM (when the market opens) before the Egg Lady sold out. I arrived at 9:05am and I get up to the lady and ask for 1 dozen eggs. She responds "Oh, I think I sold the last carton but let me check." I check my phone and it says 9:07am and I am thinking "No way she can be sold out already!" She returns to the table with a carton and says "Now, this is the last one!" "Yay!" I say. Now I just have to try these eggs from Bakersfield and see what all the fuss in about! My other market bounty included fresh corn, peppers, and whole wheat bread and two croissants from "the Fre

He Is Taking Over!

There is a rush to get to bed in our household these days! It used to be that Moses would follow either hubby or I to bed but if we stay up too late Moses will get up and go into our bedroom and go to sleep. The problem is.....you might not have a place to sleep yourself when you get tired!! CAPTION: There is a new boss in town and his name is Moses. "Um, excuse me Moses, that is Mother's side." Somebody is completely spoiled! Is the pillow fluffy enough for you!

Friday the 13th!

My Nordie Shoe Bounty! And I only paid $19.67 for all of these! Now who says Friday The 13th is bad? I call it lucky!

EAT PRAY LOVE

Tonight my work girl friends and I are going to check out what seems like the biggest older chick flick of summer, Eat, Love, Pray! Did you read the book? I did and absolutely loved it. It brought out my inner journalist. Can't wait for the adventure to Italy, India and Indonesia! And I especially can't wait to see her eat her way through Italy. I am not sure about you but I was dying as Elizabeth Gilbert ate pounds upon pounds of pasta, pizza and gelato. Wouldn't it be so cool to just drop everything and roam the world for a year?

An Expensive Lesson

After carrying around a $150 gift certificate for sushi for over a year, I finally found the right restuarant it was supposed to go to! You wouldn't believe the problems I have had in trying to use this card! You have probably heard of Katsuya as a popular sushi joint in Los Angeles but did you know there is actaully two seperate sushi chains one called Katsuya and another called Katsu-ya? Well, I am here to tell you there is a difference, a big difference in the two chains. Not only did I find out the hard way that one of these restaurants would not accept the $150 gift card but I had to pay $150 of my cash for some pretty meatiocre sushi. What was the problem? I was told I could go to any of his restaurants and the person who bought it for me said I could use it for the one by my house. Wrong! After eating at the one by my house I was told they couldn't accept the card. Pissed off I did some research and found that Katsuya (minus the hyphen) is owned by a corporation

Brunching

We've taken up brunching in Hollyweird! I found this really cool restaurant in Hollywood called Cafe Was. I love the interior as it looks like an old theatre. The food is amazing at lunch, dinner and at brunch. We have been a lot recently with some friends. Heck, who can beat the $15 all you can drink mimosas?! While the breakfast is amazing my very favorite thing is a starter. Medjool Dates that are roquefort-filled and wrapped in applewood smoked bacon and doused with twelve-year aged balsamic are my favorite thing on earth these days!

West Hollywood Pool Party

One of my vendors invited me to his house in West Hollywood for a summer pool party. Let's just say there was a lot of eye candy in boys town...Caroline and I love those yummy bartenders up in the hills of Doheny!

Saturday Night at the Movies

This past Saturday I joined my BFF at Exposition Park to watch The Hangover. As an added bonus there were 13 food trucks to try! We did a good job covering 5 or 6 trucks and boy were we ever stuffed!!! Good times!

I Want These

I wonder if hubby is crafty enough to make me these cupcakes? You know, since he wanted to make me some cupcakes for my birthday. A co-worker sent me this picture. Aren't these STAR WARS cupcakes amazing?! I am not sure I would want to eat them though as they are art!

35 Birthday Surprises

My hubby is absolutely, the best husband in the world! If by chance you don’t know this to be true yourselves, this story I am about to tell will confirm his amazing awesomeness. I get home Friday night, July 30th only to be greeted by my hubby who asks about my day. After saying, “It was all right” he asks me if I by chance received any flowers that day. I said, “um no.” “You didn’t?” he said. “Nope” I replied. He said “That is weird, I drove to your work and delivered flowers for you to the mail room. "I thought girls like to get flowers in front of other people so that is why I decided to delivered them to your work.” Apparently, hubby came to work at 3pm and I left work at 4:30pm. Concerned that I didn’t get my flowers and after spewing a few impolite words regarding the mailroom people, I called my office to see if the flowers had arrived. They confirmed and so I had them messenger them to me. Hubby's flowers arrive at 9:00pm. Of course, they are beauti
