3rd Annual Wagville Halloween

Tonight we went to Moses' daycare for his Halloween party from 6-8pm. Typically we are the first to get there but this year we came a little late. To our surprise they already gave out the best costume prize. Normally they wait till the very end but I guess they got antsy this year. So poor Moses didnt get a prize like he did the last two years. :( This year Moses decided to be a bananasplit. He got a lot of compliments. Penny got into her elephant costume. It was fun taking my two kids out in their costumes. This year they had the bobbing for wieners and a photo booth. No searching through a haystack like last year. The winner of the costume contest was a little pug. He deserved it though, he was cute!

First Halloween

Penny's daycare had a Fall Festival this past Friday. A few of Penny's good friends came to celebrate with her (Verona, Dave and Sandy). The event kicked off with a children's parade which was so darn cute! Imagine 50 babies, toddlers and preschoolers in the cutest of cutest costumes! After the parade the children went into the schools backyard where there were a ton of activities set up for all the kids like pumpkin painting, tossing coconuts through donuts, touching opey goey grimy stuff, playing inside a tent full of balls, taking fun photos and much more! There was trick or treating (packets of animal crackers, pretzels and goldfish). There were yummy treats and a cookie decorating contest. Overall it was a really fun experience!

Lunch w/ The Augusts

It's always fun to go to lunch at someone's else's house. At home we tend to eat the same things over and over so it's cool to see what other people eat and how they prepare things. Not only that its fun to see how they live (especially when you don't visit a lot) and its just plain fun to catch up in the comfiness of someone's home verses an impersonal restaurant. This past weekend we caught up with our friends Mike and his daughter Amy. Mike and Amy happen to be the first friends we visited after staying home in the germ free house for 2 1/2 months. 8 months later Penny is a whole another baby! Mike and Amy (John, was out of town) were very prepared for a baby visit. A good friends of theirs had a baby a few days after Penny so they have a lot of items on hand for her. This worked out great and made the visit even more enjoyable. Amy is 7 years old and she was absolutely great with Penny. Amy had a ton of fun playing with Penny and Penny had a ton of fu

Calabasas Pumpkin Festival

Our good pals The Forsgrens joined us out in Calabasas for a fun fall day surrounded by pumpkins. It was a beautiful fall day. Not too hot nor too cold making the day really enjoyable. As we waited for Charlie and Kristy to arrive, we tested out some pumpkin pie. Penny had her first bite of pie and boy did she ever like it! She gobbled that pie up like there was no tomorrow! Before Charlie and Kristy came we slid down a huge slide. You know the ones you put a big potato sack down and slide on. Then we swung in swings in a huge playground. When Charlie and Kristy arrived we had a ton of fun watching Penny paint a pumpkin! She got paint everywhere. A lot of people nearby also got a kick out of Penny's mad painting skills (guess the painting in daycare has pod off!). After painting we saw turtles, went to vendor booths, ate fair food, and had more fun at a kids zone. Penny had fun playing with gigantic Legos and she was scared by a zombie! We topped off the event by all sli

Bath Tub Girl

At 10 mos she is too big to take a bath in her baby tub but she has found another use for it, a play tub!

Mommy Club

Turns out I wasn't the only person in my hood who had a baby recently. Thanks to my social loving dog, Moses, I was able to meet other dog lovin mommas who had just given birth to their first human babies. Like me, they we're just as bewildered by the new responsibilities of having a baby at an older stage in life. So we all came up with the brilliant idea of forming a monthly group where we talk about our experiences and give our babies a chance to play. Yesterday, I hosted the third meet up. I wasn't sure anyone would come but by 430pm there were 5 moms and 5 babies talking about everything from breast feeding to daycare to poopy diapers. I ended up having a great time and so did Penny, who couldn't believe how many babies were playing with "her" toys! Even though its a neighborhood mom group, I invited a mom friend from work who had expressed interest in finding a good mom group. Since I was hosting I didn't think the other moms would mind. In
