Watch

Just watched this really great movie. It's great cuz, it gets yah thinking that if Americans spent the amount of time they spend complaining about their Presidential candidates and actively working toward changing their society we too, could have these pretty awesome "well being" programs that other countries have and begin to heal a lot of the problems/pain we have in the U.S.    Take a look at what our friends overseas have. We the people, should be demanding that our candidates work for us and change what doesn't work in our society. Ironically, a lot of these countries say these ideas came from us!  Norway for instance, says their prison system came about because of our "no cruel and unusual punishment."  Anyhow, check out the movie.  1. 8 weeks paid vacation in Italy. 2. 5 months paid maternity leave in Italy. 3. 2 hour work lunches to go home and eat with family. 4. Healthy, well-balanced school lunches and an hour long session to eat them like

Headlines

Brangelina's 12 year in the making break-up and Trump's mis-appropriation of campaign funds may have been today's national headlines but the "shocking" headline in my life was that P came home from school with homework. Yes, my not even in kindergarten child has homework. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I admit I wasn't a big fan of school so part of me is thinking why the hell do little kids have homework? But then the other part of me, the one who travelled to Japan when she was in the 11th grade, who witnessed first-hand how far behind American children are education...is okay with this homework cuz, gosh darn it, I want my kid to be smart and contribute to society. It's 5 pages of homework and luckily, she was good to sit down immediately and complete 3 pages of it when we got home but how will it be weeks from now? Part of me feels like this is America trying to catch up rather then, fix the problem at hand. Hummmm. What do you think?

Dad Time (From the desk of Moses)

My dad has been working a ton so sightings of him have been rare.  I finally got some quality time with him and wanted to show him just how much I missed him. I highly suggest sitting on your human, it is the best! It's puts you in the right position to get your chest rubbed. 🐶

REVIEW: Pete's Dragon

P has been an avid movie goer since birth. Since Mom and Dad like movies, we have always believed it was important to take her to the movies. We've taken her to age appropriate ones of course which equals a lot of animated films. A good friend of mine, shared some advise from his mother with me when P was 3 months old. He said his mother always said "Children do not learn how to behave unless you take them out in public and show them how they are supposed to behave." This advise has always stuck with me and which is one of the reasons I like to give P so many experiences. Ever since we saw Ghostbusters (she begged us to see that one because of her love of "ghosts" and spent 6 months watching the movie trailer on her iPad) we have been taking her to more and more live action films which is good for Mom because then I am not stuck watching 90% animated films like I have been doing for the last 4 years. Not that animated films are bad just, you know, a f

Snap Chat

I'm on Snap Chat now and in the words of Tom Hanks' character in Big, I don't get it. What do you do with it? Send crazy pictures of yourself to people? There's like 3 buttons and I can't figure out what to do with any of them. P who is 4 can use it better than me. This bugs.

Getting A Jump On Halloween

Ever since I went to Disneyland last week and saw all of their Halloween decorations I have been in the Halloween mood. So I pull out the big box of Halloween items from the garage and started to decorate. P is at an age where she wants to help and was eager to help my hanging up skeletons and tape and stick items all over the house. I bought some new decorations at Target to spruce up the old that we had. For this week's playdate with our neighbor, Julia we decided to do some baking. Or rather, I decided. I love baking and decorating so I baked up some cupcakes and had them ready along with mini decorating stations for the girls to do after school. It was a big success and a lot of fun!

Velvet

It was really hard to get rid of some of P's baby clothes but there is only so much you can save and so much room. Plus, as time goes by the attachment lessons a bit. A good friend of mine, Verona, has a daughter who just had a baby so I have been giving her some of P's cloths. Silly, the sweet little baby tried on P's pink velvet outfit that I had so loved. Here is a picture of Jilly with her other grandma. Cue the disco ball.

The Sloppy Joe

The thing called a "Sloppy Joe" has disgusted me since childhood. I'm not sure why since I like hamburger and tomatoes. I remember my mom and dad made them all the time and each time I would refuse to eat dinner. I would sit alone at the dinner table for hours as punishment. I never made a sloppy joe until tonight and even then I couldn't put the bun on top like Blue Apron asked me, so I served this meal ala mode, cuz 40 years later I still couldn't eat it put together. What is wrong with me? Using a famous childhood quote from hubs "it was adequate."

September 11th

A hard day for most Americans but doubly hard for me as it was the due date given to me the first time I was pregnant. I do not dwell on this lost pregnancy but whenever the day comes I can't help but remember the possibility that was once there. Like the lost pregnancy this is a day to remember lost souls on that fateful day in 2001. I think many of us can remember clearly the events of that day and how we spent that day processing what had happened to our country and to us. I awoke that morning to a frantic phone call from a friend, who was sure that airplanes were being sent to LA to attack. She was worried about me. I turned on the TV and saw like many others the second tower collapse and the crash of the airplane in the field. I felt for sure this was the day the United States would use it's nukes. I thought it was the beginning of the end of days. I spent the day with my roommate, Rebekah and I remember walking to the restaurant where she worked. Normally we

Fairy Godmother In Training

Why Disneyland doesn't get old. We were hanging out with some friends in Fantasyland right across from King Arthur's Carousel when this woman pops her head out of this small door. The lady keeps making motions, as if to get our attention, so I send P and her friend over. I arrive just in time to see a room full of princess costumes. The only person inside is this lady carrying a wand. She explained she is a Fairy Godmother in training and she needs to practice her magic. She asked me if it was okay to give the girls some pixie dust. I nod okay and my daughter, with a few flicks of a wand is covered in head to toe Pixie Dust. Someone was quite excited to be bestowed with such a gift and got upset with anyone who brushed up against her the rest of the evening. It was impossible to get her into the bathtub so guess who went to school today dipped in gold dust?

First Day of Pre-K

Today was P's first day of Pre-K!!! P was so excited to drive to school with her classmate, Alita today. Her mom just had a new baby a few days earlier and asked us to take her to school. First thing P and Alita told their teacher was "the baby came out of mummy's tummy." It's going to be a good year! I am not sure who is more excite P or me? During the week off from Summer Camp the teachers completely rearranged the school rooms and the turned out so nice. Nice and bright. Here's to school year 2016-2017. My baby isn't a baby anymore.

Beach Day!

We are constantly busy our our good buddy Moses, doesn't get to go with us too much so we decided to have a Moses Day where we completely dedicated our day to fun things Moses likes. His number one thing is to take rides in the car. So we took a long car ride down to Long Beach and went to Rosie's Dog Beach, an off-leash dog beach where dogs can roam free. Moses must be getting on in years because he didn't want to tun around as much as housed to. This made me a bit sad but at the same time, I didn't want to get in the water too (I know I am getting on in years). I laid on the beach while Daddy and P played. Moses after taking a dip in the water came by me and we snuggled on our beach blanket. It was so nice to soak up the sun and be near my good buddy. The other two Musketeers came back and we took this picture. After the beach we went to a dog friendly restaurant where Moses had his own water and bits of bacon and pancakes and then we took him next door

American Girl

A few ears ago my MIL got P an American Doll Baby. P had no idea what American Girl meant nor had she ever been in a store until today. For our last adventure of the summer, before school starts, I decided to take P to lunch at The Grove at The American Doll Store where you can dine with your dolls. We both put on dresses and I told her to take her baby. She also wanted to take two friends so we had 3 friends with us. When we got to the store P was amazed. She put have watched some kind of American Doll video on her kid's uTube as she knew where she was. She started freaking out when she saw some clothes she has for her doll. That's when I told her that her baby was an American Girl doll. We had so much fun exploring the store and looking at all the clothes and accessories they had. When we sat down for lunch the waiter brought 3 chairs for her friends so we instantly had a tea party. We had a very enjoyable time. It's something I will remember always.

An Unexpected I Love You

I was eating lunch today with our friends at the California Science Center when a beautiful husky came running around to our table. At first I thought it was a wolf. In a matter of moments, it became clear he had no human so my friend said let's catch him. So we did and soon found out his name was "Leo." There were two phone numbers on his tag and after trying them both a few times a man picked up and we told him his dog was with us at the museum. While we waited for the owner to arrive I petted the dog and rubbed his ears. He was so sweet and knew his commands. I told him to be a good boy and that we were working on getting him back to his humans. He stayed by my side for a while and then he stood up and started barking in a specific way like he was talking directly to me. When his owner came, the dog was excited to see him. It was a joyous reunion. My friend told him about the specific bark and the owner said oh, I taught him to say "I love you." I never had a
