This past week hubbers emailed me with a great dealio from Groupon for taking some baby pictures. I find it ironic that I haven't gotten Baby Girl's photo taken professionally yet and she will be 14 months this week. Me, the Queen of Scrapbooking and the Queen of printing photos has gotten around to documenting her child's professional growth. So when I saw the deal for 8 pages of free photos I took it. Made an appointment this past Saturday. The people at the store were were really nice despite being completely swamped with children when we arrived. People who can stay friendly amongst high maintenance parents and unruly children get a gold star in my book. We took 4 changes of clothes and ended up taking 3 sets of pictures with 3 of the outfits. Baby girl was very good and did her thing for the first two sets but by the third set she was done. Pretty good results for a baby who can't sit still! For $16 bucks I thought the quality would be bad but alas, they were very good quality and the kicker is that they take so many damn good pictures you just need them all and thus, extracting an additional $100 from the cheap, Groupon-ing parent with ease. I suppose that is okay because we got $100 worth of fun out of watching our girl poses and as a bonus got to take home some really nice pictures. Now that I have so many printed pictures of the same poses I will have to find some frames and figure out who to give pictures to. In addition to the 8-pages of the 1-single pose (see below photo) I bought the photo CD with all of the other poses so that I can go to Costco and print out other photos that I liked from the session.
As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen. If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public. Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me. Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....
