Work Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Christmas season has begun!! Work had their annual Tree Lighting Ceremony tonight at 5pm. It was our 98th holiday party. In 2012 it will be our 100th Anniversary. It is going to be so sweet! The studio guys did a really good job of decorating this year. You can't really tell from this picture but nevertheless it was amazing!

I Came, I Conquered

I have been kind of slacking on my personal Food Truck Race of late because my Yelp buddy hit 50 trucks in a breeze. Yesterday, however, I somehow managed to eat both lunch and dinner at food trucks. We tried Onolicious, a new Hawaiian truck that was at Verdugo Bar and then later that evening, we received a tweet that Grill Em All, the winner of the real food truck race was going to be at Eagle Rock Brewery. In between the truckin' we managed to do some shopping for our upcoming, first ever, Thanksgiving meal with our family at our house! Onolicious only had 5 reviews on Yelp and the reviews ranged from two 4-stars to two 2-stars to finally, a lonely, 1-star review. The reviews were mixed so we didn't have any idea of what we were getting ourselves into. We showed up at our local pub at about 2:30 in the afternoon. Normally there are quite a few people at the bar either in line or grabbing a beer but the public must not know much about Onolicious because other than a

Grill Em All Truck

After lunch we did some shopping in Pasadena and at Costco. After making it through the craziness of Costco we went home and an hour later we get a tweet that the Grill Em All truck is making a surprise stop at Eagle Rock Brewery. We jumped inthe car and headed over. The line wasn't too bad considering that i have seen the line for this truck a lot longer. It was 9:30PM and the wait took 40 minutes. We placed an order for a Waste Em All burger and a Samoa Joe Burger with a side of french fries with Malt Vinegar Aioli sauce. We got our food and brought it home and it was simply said amazing!! The french fries were perfectly salted and the burgers well, they were just amazing! You really need to try this truck as its one my top 5 trucks. I am sure the food for the day didn't help with my weight loss goals but sometimes you just have to enjoy life right? Right.

Adventure in the 714

Last night the hubby and I headed down south to Seal Beach to celebrate our friend, Kristy's birthday. You might remember I already celebrated Kristy's Birthday a month ago at Club 33 at Disney aka her "Fake Caroline Birthday" but alas time has caught up and we have made it to her real birthday. Kristy and her husband, Charlie moved back to California recently from Seattle. She had been finishing up her doctorate, yes, she is a smarty, in Marine Biology, up in Seattle. They had been living up there for 3-4 years. After graduating this past spring they wanted to get back to LA since Charlie wants to produce movies, so they moved back to Southern California (they originally hail from Iowa in case you are wondering). She was offered a swell job at UCLA doing research and was due to be our neighbor in Eagle Rock but the very week of the move, the professor at the lab at UCLA said she didn't have a job anymore. WTF right? She had a signed contract and ev

Hip Hop O'Malley's

After dinner, most of Kristy's friends left and Ellen left and so that left Krueger, Jayne Jay, Charlie, Kristy, her friend and hubby and I to roam the streets of Seal Beach. Let me tell you the streets were pretty bare. Well, the reason the streets were bare was because it was cold and all the people were in the bars warming up! We decided to take up residence inside of O'Malley's an Irish bar that likes hip hop music. Jayz and 50 Cent sounded a bit weird playing in an Irish Pub but hey this is America and anything can happen right? Right. So we entered and the waitress sat us at a big table that overlooked the bar area. The first thing we learned that night is that Krueger does not like her food warm. What, you say? Since she hadn't eaten at Ruby's she ordered a meal and progressed to let it sit for 40 minutes before eating it. Of course everyone had to know why she was doing this and her response to the millions of questions was "She hates warm

Girls Night Out!

Its been a while since I have had a proper Girls Night Out so I was super excited to be able to go to a Laker Game with some of my favorite gals! Caroline, Krugs and Danielle and I headed to the Staples Center for a night of fun but it took a while for us to even get there as there were 3 car accidents on the 110 all on consecutive exits. I thought for a moment we would miss the game but luckily everything cleared up. Krugs who is normally late was actually on time for once and it was me, Danielle and Caroline who were late and who were also holding the tickets. So the one time Krugs shows up early it doesn't pay off! Can you say ironic? Anyhow, we had a great time out last night!

Going to a Hollywood Gala Party

So Monday night, my pal Lisa texts me and asks if I would like to be her date to the 50th Anniversary Gala celebrating 50 Years of the Hollywood Walk of Fame (you know the stars on the side walk). It sounded fun so I said yes. Her boyfriend works for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, who was one of the sponsors of the event so he couldn't really spend the evening with her as he was working the event, so she asked me to be her plus one. I showed up at the Hollywood/Vine Ballroom at 7:30pm and I was amazed at how big the event was. It was a fancy cocktail party. Luckily I was in a black dress but still I didn't feel as dressed up as I should have been. Lisa looked really good in her brand new cocktail dress from Macy's. See her picture? Don't you just love that big necklace? I thought she looked really good that night. Very glamor girl! We meet Tim, her boyfriend, who gave us our wristbands to the event. We entered the big ballroom doors and Lisa immedia

I Voted

So today I voted in the mid-term elections like a million other people but this is the first time I really didn't know who to vote for because it was the first time I didn't like either candidate. Can I just say, those ads on TV are terrible! I don't think they should let people waste money like that on what is essentially name calling. I feel like they should just have debates and be done with it. All I really care about is the issues and to see the candidates verbally attack each other doesn't give me any inclining's to vote for either party. Why don't you make ads that tell me what YOU can do for the State? I don't care what you think your running mate isn't doing right, what can YOU do? This time around I really wish there were more candidates than just a Republican and a Democrat. Yes, I know there is the Green Party and the Libertarians, etc but let's face it, they are not as well established as the Republicans and the Democ
