Oh The Drama of the Turtle Crib Sheet!

LESSON: This blog is going to teach you a valuable lesson about American Express Gift Cards and how they need to be registered in your name if you are to use them to buy merchandise online or over the phone. It was only 6 years ago that I remember telling hubby I hated gift cards as presents because they are so impersonal however, flash forward a few years and I couldn't be more in love with them! I especially love gathering them all up and planning out exactly what I am going to buy and making a big shopping trip out of my cards. Makes me feel like I am rich for a day. To me, gift cards are like "free money." Unlike cash which can easily go into a bank acocunt or spent on crap you didn't intend to use it on, once you get a gift card you are beholden to spend it or lose the value. So for me, getting a gift card is like the one time I can truly treat myself and buy myself something I have always wanted. And you people know I love looking at catalogues so I usua...

Cravings

I have always heard women talk about their craving while pregnant but I never understood what they meant until now. I don't crave much in fact, I went from being super hungry in my first trimester to being moderately hungry in my second trimester. I do still need to eat every few hours but its not like I feel the need to shovel it in anymore. But as weeks go buy there is two foods I really do enjoy. The first is eggs. I can't seem to get enough eggs. I have been taking the croissants from Costco and and making an egg with cheese. I could eat those every morning. I don't but I could. Then I have been finding that peanut butter and raspberry jelly on croissant (toasted) is pure heaven!!! I also enjoy pepperoni pizza slices and a ton of fruit. I have eaten every berry known to mankind. I could, in fact, turn into a blueberry, like in Willy Wonka. The one food that is totally unappetizing is CHICKEN. The very thought of chicken makes me want to vomit. Now th...

A Mom

Sometimes I just have to pinch myself when I think at the end of the year, I am going to be somebody's mom. I can't even believe I am old enough to be a mom. But it's true, I am old enough and in fact, I am considered advanced maternal age. If you don't know what that means, it's term applied to any lady 35 and over. For years and years, I used to be scared of having kids. I have never disliked kids, always thought they were cute but I wasn't sure I could take of one. It's a lot of responsibility you know. It's a big job you know, not one to be half assed. I see a lot of parents who probably don't take the word responsibility to heart as much as I do. For 18 years (and pretty much all their life if you really think about it), someone is going to rely on me, to feed them, cloth them, school them, teach them right from wrongs, and oh yeah, and love them and cherish them. It's a pretty hard gig if you think about it. I kept waiting fo...
