FamilyFest 2010

Made a last minute trip to the husband's home town of Sanger this past weekend. Lots of family stuff going on. Here was the low down. 1. Went to visit our Step Mom Faith to get her mind off a few things. 2. Went to visit our Grandma and Grandpa (the hubby's grandparents) because it was their 61st Anniversary! Can you believe 61 years? The hubby and I will be in our nineties if we make 61 years. The hubby's grandparents hosted a lunch at Harry's in Reedley. I found out two things: The tri-tip sandwich is yummy and next time I am checking out the spaghetti because over half the people ordered it. Above: Is Great Grandma June with her great grandson, Clayton. It was nice to catch up with all of the hubby's family whom I normally talk to on FaceBook but don't get to see very much. 3. Went to visit Morris, Brian's dad to wish him a very happy birthday! We had a really good time hanging out with everyone. I was especially happy to make the following dis

I admit it. I am a Twihard now.

So when I was in Chicago visiting my family, my sister-in-law had my Dad buy me a book called "Twilight" at Wal-Mart. She gave it to me and tells me that it's the best book ever. She says that it was so good that she had to give my little nephew, Will the middle name of Edward. I thought she was friggin' crazy. She hands me the book and I twinge. I had heard of the book and the crazy commercial craze it sparked. And the one thing I knew was that I absolutely didn't want to be one of "those girls" who became obsessed over some teeny bopper book. The only reason I picked up the book was because I thought it would be rude if I didn't at least read the first chapter after Kate went to all the trouble of having my Dad buy it. I thought for sure the book was going to go into the trash. So I sat down and started reading the first chapter and then the second and by the next afternoon I had finished the entire 550 pg book in 1 day. I had to admit it

Can't Wait!!

It's been a while since I have really wanted to see a movie and that movie is HOT TUB TIME MACHINE. I know crazy title right? But I hear its hilarious. It's been forever since I have seen a good comedy. And how could it be bad with John Cusack only the most adorable guy from the best 80's movies! I love that fact that John Cusack plays a guy who goes back in time only to see John Cusack in the 80's. Can't wait to check this one out!

Some Good In the World

So I have been on this "the world is going to hell" kick lately and this morning I went to check in on my favorite dog rescue group, The Mutt Scouts (http://themuttscouts.wordpress.com/) and I discovered that the dog I was worried about months ago is doing well. From all indications I thought she was going to die when I first heard her story but a miracle happened and she is a heathly little girl ready to make someone's life a little brighter. I am glad to know "good" things still happen in this crazy world. Keep the good comin' people. REPOSTED FROM THE MUTT SCOUTS SIGHT Yes, believe it…this is Polly Pockets…formerly known as Frail New Friend Alive. Thriving. Elated. Healthy. New. When we rescued her -plainly put- there was not much hope. Sure, we were committed, but a few different vets did not believe she would make it. They feared her too damaged to survive. We suppose what they were not counting on was her tenacity, her intelligence, and her spirit.

The Mo Cam

So our buddy Jung helped the hubby set up a web cam so that we can watch our dog Moses. You can watch him too. Now we only have 1 camera so don't expect anything to exciting. But it is fun to check in on him throughout the day while we are work. Makes us parents feel safe. So check out Moses!! He also has a fan page on FaceBook. So if you love following our Mo check out the web cam and the FaceBook page today! Mo Cam moses.rightonbro.com faceBook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Los-Angeles/Moses/320841363007?ref=ts

Man what A Week!

Even though I was on vacation on Monday this was the longest work week! I felt like I worked six days instead of 4. So a certain movie is making my life a nightmare again. However, the week did end with a nice event. Hubby and I got Lakers tickets and we took our friends Brian and Heather to the game with us. We had a great time hanging out even though I was on my blackberry all night working. After the game we went back to our favorite Trader Vics for some end of the week cocktails. Were were out till 1AM which for us, was amazing. Woke up to find my creative agency worked all night to get some artwork delivered to London to make a drop dead deadline. It amazes me that we make art here and then in a matter of hours the artwork is downloaded and being worked on by a team overseas. Crazy. Anyhow. Looking forward to starting my weekend but I know I will be working. Oh well, that is life I guess.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

This picture was taken in Chicago over the past weekend. It is one of the many unique items that marched in the parade my mom, dad and I attended in downtown Chicago. I have have never seen so many Irish American's in my life! Nor as much green in the city of Chicago before! It was cool.

March Madness

Work has gotten to be very stressful and way too busy. It's to the point where I physically can't make any more miracles happen. So what is different from before. No more production time. I used to get a week to do things and now I have to whip things around in 24 hours. So what does a girl do when she is stressed out? Take a vacation! I left the craziness for 10 days and headed to Chicago to take care of my newborn nephew, Will. But I will write about that experience later. I went back to work yesterday and was calm but then today happened and the calmness that I had evaporated once again. Today I found out one of my co-workers was laid off. A particular important one at that. I know you will say that is the climate but he wasn't laid off because of money. This decision just doesn't make good business sense. When I learned the news I once again felt compelled to speak up for what was right. But before I spoke I had to stop and think about my livelyhood. It

3rd Anniversary

Happy Anniversary Hubby! So sorry to be out of town for our 3rd wedding anniversary. I feel so bad but so lucky I married Prince Charming! Just thinking about how 3 years ago today, we were in Hawaii preparing for the big moment. And surprised we were! Everyone said rain on your wedding day was lucky and so far they have been right! It's been a wonderful 3 years and I can't wait for the next! So as you are in LA and I am here in Chicago please know that I am thinking about you and watching it rain in Chicago. Love you babe!

Go Figure!

So the first year I get invited by my company to go to Spago's, for an exclusive Oscar party, I am out of town! Oh well, instead I watched the Oscars from Chicago with my sister in law, Kate and her new baby. We drank champaign (the baby had formula) and ate strawberries. Oh yeah and got some deep dish pizza. Yum! We had a good time reviewing the dresses. I thought Cameron Diaz looked really good in her gold gown. Kate liked Rachel McAdams dress. I was happy that a woman finally won the best Director award.
