Penny Visits Michigan

So, I finally decided to go home after 7 years of being away. I'm not sure why I was away for so long but I was. Over Thanksgiving Penny and I headed to Michigan. It was the first time being away from hubby for a holiday but I needed to return home and he had to work. I was hoping he would get the week off but this year was rare one in that he had to get a show out so no extra days for him. It was nice to return home and visit with my parents, my brother and his family, my grandma and other family members and some friends I hadn't seen in a long while. We landed to snow and I made the mistake of putting our winter coats in our luggage which the airline lost!!! So our first taste of Michigan was a bitter cold one. But alas, we still had some great adventures, like see Aunt Sue's new house, get my first Jersey Giant in 10 years, visit my grandma, go to Bronner's, have a playdate with old friends Mindy and Angela in an awesome treehouse, catch up with two girls and

Bob Barker's Marionettes

I crossed off one of my LA Bucket Lists items today. Hubs had to work a bit of overtime so Penny and I had a Mom/Daughter day which started out with a shopping trip to Target, a discount matinee of "The Boxtrolls" complete with popcorn, and a late afternoon show at Bob Barker's Marionette Theatre, which is surprisingly close to our house. To kick off our holiday season we went to see "The Nutcracker." As the longest running children's theater in Los Angeles, all of the marionettes, puppets, props and costumes for the theater are produced in the on-site shop. I have always wanted to check this out and finally, Penny seemed to be at the right age to enjoy it. Enjoy it she did, although she was a bit cranky from having no nap. In true Penny style she made friends easily with a little boy but in her excitement of having to do everything that the little boy did she got upset and was thus, a little unruly. The show was really old fashion and i enjoyed it. It

It's Coming

Geeks all around the world are happy today because Disney announced the title of the seventh Star Wars Installment. Apparently they finished principal photography. Looks like next Christmas is going to be big at the box office! I wish one of our movies was big at the box office but our third film which opened on Halloween last weekend bombed its way out of the top ten. With only $1.8M we will be lucky to still be in business. But like Nicole says "I wonder what exciting will happen next?

Penny's Second Hair Cut

I've been getting my hair cut at my old studio's salon for years now. My hair stylist, Cherie, always offers to cut Penny's hair when I go and this time, I took her up on it since penny hasn't had a cut since her very first haircut at Walt Disney World in October 2013 when she was 20 months old. Now Penny doesn't like me touching her hair. So there have been no ribbons, bows, rubber bands or anything of the sort when it comes to her hair so I wasn't sure how she would react to a hair cut but I guess Cherie has some kind of sit still magic and used it on Penny as Penny was really, really, good.
