So today I voted in the mid-term elections like a million other people but this is the first time I really didn't know who to vote for because it was the first time I didn't like either candidate. Can I just say, those ads on TV are terrible! I don't think they should let people waste money like that on what is essentially name calling. I feel like they should just have debates and be done with it. All I really care about is the issues and to see the candidates verbally attack each other doesn't give me any inclining's to vote for either party. Why don't you make ads that tell me what YOU can do for the State? I don't care what you think your running mate isn't doing right, what can YOU do? This time around I really wish there were more candidates than just a Republican and a Democrat. Yes, I know there is the Green Party and the Libertarians, etc but let's face it, they are not as well established as the Republicans and the Democrats. What if I am sick of what both the Republicans and Democrats are doing with their blame game antics and want to vote for someone else? Well, right now I could vote for someone else but seriously, are they ever going to get elected? Not very likely. Something major really needs to happen with political parties because the current way doesn't ever seem to get anything done. I mean California couldn't even balance a budget. What this tells me is that the people we elect into office are not interested in the people the represent and basically, these people do not know how to compromise. How else do we end up a bazillion dollars in debt? The Republicans blame Obama and the Democrats blame Bush. Hey, here's a novel idea, why don't you guys work together and get us all out of this mess, this bad economy. Hey maybe you guys should put your heads together and figure out how the United States can make something instead of shipping jobs out overseas because its cheaper. Suffice to say, I wasn't really excited to vote in this election at all but I did and I had to go with who I felt would do the "slightly" better job. Sad state of affairs when you don't feel impressed by either side. How do we change this? Everyone needs to pay better attention to politics. The power needs to go back to the people.
As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen. If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public. Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me. Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....
