Got home from a trip to Sanger last night and we were desperate to see the gang as it's been a while since we have seen them. Luckily for us, Regul, Danielle, Toby and Montez were available and came over to the house. We grabbed sushi at this place near our house and caught up. It was so good to see everyone and hear what is going on in their life. The stars must have been aligned that night cuz my hubby, 90 lb Girl, announced he would not eat chicken terriyaki, that he would try sushi! He has had a bite of sushi before but not for his entire dinner! I was so very proud of him. I am sure he won't be eating it all of the time but he is now open to it so that is a good thing. After dinner we all came back to the house and drank some beers and played CLUE. I hadn't played that game in years. I had gotten the game for a white elephant party and was bummed I couldn't play it cuz, you needed a minimum of 3 people to play. Not having a third on hand too often I knew this was my opportunity to bring the game out. No one had played it for a long time and Regul didn't remember the rules! We were only going to play one game cuz, Regul had to get to something else but we ended up playing for a few hours and 3 games later we were all introduced to the rules once again. Today, we were outside from 9am-4pm taking our first stab at landscaping. Brian pulled out these old yucky trees and then we went to Home Depo to get some plants, planters and other gardening stuff. Spent all afternoon repotting plants that we had gotten in Sanger and also new plants. It was nice to get some air for a change and nice to get some much needed exercise. We even found the mystery street where the barking dogs live! Hurray!
As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen. If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public. Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me. Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....
