TGIF

I am not sure about you but I am glad its Friday! Why does the week after a holiday always move so slowly? I guess our bodies get used to being lazy. I expect next week to be pretty busy as my new boss who was absent from the US since Thanksgiving will be back. Plus, we have our worldwide conference coming up at the end of January and we are preparing materials for that. This year is going to be especially crazy since we have literally tripled the attendance and a lot of people who worked it last year are now gone. I am sure my current good mood will expire shortly.

This weekend hubby and I will be in search of vinylmation and Mel's Dinner. Thinking we may go down to Hollywood to use our Mel's Groupons that expire soon and then stopping by the Disney Store at the El Capitan to see if they have any unique vinyl for our ever growing collection. Yesterday hubby bought me a whole tray of them that were half off. Since we are going to Disney World in a few months he thought I could take these crappy (and by crappy I just mean cheap) and trade them up for more expensive ones I want. In addition to the fun trading in my future, I also get a completed series for my own collection. Cuz in each tray you get two collections plus a chaser. He really got a dealio. That is how addicted we are. We spend our free time checking websites that sell the vinylmation. And its good that we do because they put new stuff up like every other day. You really have to pay attention. I know, I am a nerd.

Anyhow, have a good weekend everyone!

Vaccine Part 1

As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen.  If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public.  Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me.  Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....

Random Thoughts as the Weekend Closes

Today I got a friend request from my mother-in-law. Will she embrace the FaceBook? We wait and see. Technology is cool...I got to speak to my friend in Hong Kong today. The BlindSide is a really heartwarming and good movie. I didn't know what to expect. I saw Sandra in blond hair and I thought cheesy. Now I can't decide whether I want her or Meryl to win the Oscar. Cats are really nice creatures. I haven't really had much exposure to one before. I especially like the fact that you can hold them like babies. I wonder if I stole Mr. Chuckles if anyone would notice? hum. Bartenders blowing fire makes for an interesting drink at the bar. Plantains are better when they come with your meal and not as an appetizer. I met a man who wanted to see Leap Year. Krueger continues to take jobs that suck ass and take up her precious time. Sorry CougarTown screwed ur day up Krugs. We missed u at the movies today. Ever since I got Mo I have meet the most interesting people ...

So Proud

I have yet to bear children so I am not sure what its like to be proud of your kids but I do have this "kid" at work that I am extremely proud of this week. Three years ago, when I first transferred to my current studio due to "the merge" I was one of two people who made up the international marketing team. I am sure many of you remember me complaining how crazy I was. Anyhoo, during that time when we were setting up our team, this young girl walked into my office to interview for the internship position I was hiring for. I have been working with interns for as long as I can remember and before that, I worked with young kids at movie theatres. In all my years and in all those kids I had never met a person like the girl who walked into my office that day. It took all of two seconds for me to know she was talented and she was a star. After meeting with her I called off all the other interviews and told HR to hire her. She was a rock star intern! Later when w...
