Soda Pop

Today I have to go to the tax man. Yuk, receipts are everywhere in my living room! I hope the government is kind to us this year. This weekend has gone by so fast! Friday night we managed to meet up with Charlie, Krueger, Jane, Toby, Danielle and a slew of others at Islands in Burbank. Toby, Danielle and I treated ourselves to mani-pedi's after work. It was sooo incredibly nice to have someone rub my feet and arms after a very long week at work. Charlie and gang went to see "I Love You Man." All of us met up at Islands in Burbank. We tend to meet up there whenever Charlie is in town. My hubby was able to get out of work early and joined us. We literally closed down the place and were asked to leave at 1AM. Everyone seems to be doing well. Just busy at work. Saturday, we chilled with Toby who is staying with us for a few days while he has a gig in LA. We went to the Burbank Animal Shelter again to look at dogs but they were all big dogs this week. Then we had some great Mexican at our favorite place near our house and then we made a pit stop at Galco's, a really cool soda shop that sells all kinds of sodas and beers from around the world. We ran into this older man who worked at the store and he new everything there is to know about all the sodas in the store. I am really excited about this soda from the United Kingdom that he says is one of the best sodas in the world. Toby and I each bought a bottle but are afraid to drink it because what if it's the best and we need to get more? I guess its easier for me to go to the store then him. That's all they sell, soda bottles. Today it's off to the tax man and meeting up with some people for dinner if we get out of the tax man's office in time. The weekends fly by so fast. I feel like I don't get anything done.

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

My Favorite Gourmet Trucks

As of last night, I have now tried 18 food trucks! Only 60 more to go! My friends, Krueger and Kristy joined me at 55 Degree Wine in Atwar Village to try the always busy Grilled Cheese Truck! I have run into the truck a few times now but something has always prevented me from trying their food. Mostly the really, really long lines!! This time the hour wait wasn't so bad with two girls to gossip with. By the time we got to the front we were ready to execute our food plan. Kristy took lead and placed an order for 3 sandwiches (the brie, the mac-n-cheese and the rib meat) plus the dessert sandwich and some tator tots!!! I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the sandwich I went for, the Harvest sandwich but the 3 sandwiches we got more than made up for everything. I was glad to try this truck with 2 girls because we split the sandiches in 3rds which was awesome because I got to try a variety of their sandwiches. Now I must add the Grilled Cheese Truck to my list of fa...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...
