Ramblings of a Crazy Woman

This past Sunday, Penny was inducted into the Power Puff Girls, a club that I have been a part of for almost 12 years now. Back in 2001, I found myself switching careers. I went from working in exhibition to working for movie studios. My first studio gig not only introduced me to marketing, which I now call my career but it introduced me to several good friends. Two days before Christmas, in 2003 we were all given the news that we no longer had jobs. I found myself signing termination papers with a 104 temperature. Merry Christmas to me! Well, 5 of us girls decided to stay in touch and for the past 10 years we have been having dinners all over town. I have watched these 4 ladies get promoted, switch studios again and again and of course, have been there when they got married, adopted a dog or needed a shoulder to cry on. At Traders Sams at the Disneyland Hotel. Yes, Hubbers and I are still collecting 3 inch dolls though hub is the one doing the spending and the trading these days. I am liking more of the social aspect, the people and also, I just like going to Disneyland! This past weekend we discovered that the Disneyland Hotel has a Tiki Bar. I thought that would be something we'd both enjoy so we headed down to DL for some trade action and to frankly, just get out of the house, and we ended up meeting up with some of our Vinylmation friends and have dinner and drinks there. I know what ur thinking... What u took a baby to a bar? Yes, yes I did. First, it's Disney, so think family bar. Second, think pool, as in lots of swimmers in swimsuits. Thirdly, think kids are allowed til 8pm. I was a little leery bringing Penny in but then another lady walked in with not only a skimpy swimsuit she should had second guessed but also with a baby, so my worries about what people would think, immedia...

I cant believe how time is flying by! What the people say about babies getting easier, is true, it just takes a couple of months for first time parents to get adjusted! Penny is crawling, climbing and she even has a big girl chair! It's just so much fun watching her!

The very 1st movie Penny ever saw at a movie theatre was "The Hunger Games" during a Mommy & Me screening this past April. Her second movie was the Julia Robert's Snow White film, "Mirror, Mirror." Her third film was "Madagascar 3." Today, continuing her animated theme, Penny took Papa and I to see the Disney/Pixar film "Brave" yesterday. Best animated hair ever!

TGIF! Time to put away Penny's 3 month old clothing and to baby proof the house from our little crawler! She is too tall to fit in her 3 month old clothes. So time to bring out 6 month sizes and 9 month PJ's! My little girl is growing like a green bean! Not only that she has started to crawl. Sh is thrusting her body forward with cute little scoots. It won't be long before she is all over the house I think!

Happy 1st Father's Day to my hubby. Penny had a day planned out for her Papa which started with letting him sleep in, followed by pie at The House of Pies, and a movie, MADAGASCAR 3 at The Americana. Penny got her Papa a rare Vinylmation as a gift. Now Pape finally has Pongo and his second Park Series is now complete!

This weekend Penny meet the rest of the 81st Street Gang. She meet Danielle and Jon. Danielle sure looks comfortable with Penny. Penny does need a friend. Hint. Hint. Wink. Wink.

Penny's daycare celebrated Father's Day with FUDGE! No not the candy, but instead they opened up the daycare to Penny's Friends, Uncles, Dad, Grandfathe's and Everyone else! At first we didn't think Dad could come so Penny called up her Uncle Sandy and Mom brought her co-worker, Dino but at the very last minute Dad got off of work early and made it. All of Penny's guys helped her celebrate Father's Day with an ice cream social at daycare. All the men seemed to like the ice cream. Not only did they have ice cream but tons of toppings. All three of Penny's guests had more than one serving of ice-cream, well, except Mom. But mom did find the ice cream to be extra yummy. Not sure what those daycare folks do to their ice cream but everyone was enjoying themselves. Penny gave Daddy a mug she made and also a photo of her making the mug.

Today Penny went to see Dr. Boxstein for her 6 mos. check up. He said she was progressing well. She now weights 15 lbs, 6oz. She is 26.75 inches tall and has a head circumference of 17 inches. She is our tall skinny gal! She also received 4 vaccinations, 3 shots and one drinkable vaccination. Dr gave her a prescription for vitamins and Floride. Now that she is older its a more painful for mom to watch her get shots because I know she can really feel and remember them unlike when she was a baby. Luckily Penny is a good sport and after a few hugs was a-okay again. She is such a good girl! Here is a picture of her at the doctor's office.
