Ramblings of a Crazy Woman

We started our morning out right with some of Brian's yummy pancakes...with just a hint of green! After a yummy breakfast of pancakes, bacon and fruit, everyone took a big nap. The pouring rain helped sooth everyone to sleep!

March 13th marked the 5th year hubby and I have been married. There weren't any fancy big surprises this year but what lacked in surprises we made up in life events. This anniversary we found ourselves with a baby! And everyone knows that when you have a new baby, your life is over...just kidding, but it is true, your way of life completely changes. Thank goodness we have some really good friends who offered their babysitting services so we were able to go out to dinner to celebrate our milestone anniversary. I made reservations at Cliff's Edge in Silver Lake. I had never been there before but it was on my list of places to try as one of my friends said he and his wife go there all the time and had suggested I would like it. Well he was right. The atmosphere was awesome. Built around a large tree, it was sort of like eating in a treehouse but a fancy one. It was nice having a few hours to ourselves to have some adult conversation. Uncle Sandy and Aunt Marlene, otherwise known as the people who belong to every exclusive club in the world (think Club 33 and the Magic Castle), invited Penny out for Sunday Brunch at yet another exclusive club, the Mulholland Tennis Club. I didn't even know it existed when he invited us so with a quick Google search I found out what it was all about. Apparently it not only has tennis courts but a big pool and of course, a big club house where its members can dine. So this morning we headed up into the Hollywood Hills (think Hollywood sign) to Sandy's house. (Fun Fact: Sandy is neighbor's with Ryan Seacrest). Then we carpooled to Mulholland drive. Upon arriving the thing that caught my attention was the pool. It looked absolutely inviting!! We went up the stairs to the dining room and what did we see? Since becoming a mom in December I find myself with a lot of time, in the sense that I have 6 months off from work but, at the same time, I have no time at all. Does that make sense? I guess better put, I no longer have time to myself as I now live in my daughter's world. She doesn't live in mine, I live in hers and life is now about what she wants, when she wants it instead of what I want, when I want it. While there is a lot of time in my day to day living, it is somehow very hard to get simple tasks like doing a load of laundry or cooking dinner done. My days are about figuring out how to get chores completed in a 10 hour time spand (the time hubby is at work). My day is dedicated to taking care of someone who is tiny and can't speak for herself. Well, she gurgles and oohs and aaawes. Anyway, you get my drift. Haven't had much time to update this blog although there is much to write about and much I want to document so I can remember it years from now...

Penny's first museum visit was to the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles. We met up with our friends Mike, Jon and Amy on Sunday morning for a few hours of fun in the newly remodeled museum. Penny was such a good girl and enjoyed looking at all the different exhibits. Afterward we grabbed lunch in the cafeteria where everyone enjoyed taking turns feeding Penny.

Penelope Grace...my daughter is experiencing her first Oscar Party...the best kind...the ones at home!!! She got all dressed up today for the occasion. Here is her picture.

Jaxon Julius! Weighing just under 7lbs While we were in Sanger this weekend, my SIL, Holli gave birth to Jaxon on the evening of February 10th. My MIL and I were talking and this is the first baby I know that was actually born on its due date! Here is a picture of big brother Clayton with his little bro.
