Every once in a while I get inspired to throw a party. The inspiration for this one was s'mores and sparklers. Our Fourth of July was cute short because of Moses' sheer fear of fireworks so we never got to see fireworks this year. Not that we missed them but one of the important aspects of the Fourth of July was missing. Our friend, jung had given us sparklers to do with Miss P at the Regul's Annual Block Party but sadly they never got used so we took them home to save for another time. "Another time" became the following Friday night. You know a good time to throw a party in LA and ensure turn out is on Friday Night. Saturday and Sunday's are always chuck full of things to do that it's impossible to schedule a time where everyone is free but Friday nights are a different story. So I invited our neighbors over for some Friday Night fun. It was the first time we have fired up the fire pit since Miss P was born I believe. And it was the first time that Miss P ate a s'more and of course, the result was happiness. It was a fun playdate that ended with a certain wood like PARFUME.
As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen. If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public. Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me. Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....
