Busy, Busy, Busy

Do you ever have those months where every single weekend is jam packed with stuff? Well, that has been my family's life this past month. I'm not complaining, we are just BUSY. Hubs has been off of work for the past few weeks but he hasn't been sitting around. He has been busy with projects around the house during his in-between HOUSE WIVES gigs. He just went back to work today on ORANGE COUNTY which is starting it's 10th season. I headed into work this morning not knowing where the week is going to take me. It might very well be the end for my start up company. The good news is that my little family is happy. We've been lucky to make some new friends with people whose kids are in Penny's swim class and who, coincidentally live down the street from us. We have been having playdates here and there and this past weekend we all went out to a kid friendly brew pub for some food and libations. Did I mention they have a killer pretzel mac and chess bowl that the kids (um, the adults) loved?! We have been doing double the amount of swim classes the past few weeks, trying to make up for some classes we missed throughout our swim package. So we have not only been going on Sunday's but also, on Saturday's. We've had date night. We had a date with our tax man. We have had birthday parties, afternoon teas, doctor appointments, dentist appointments, Disneyland, more Disneyland, Disneyland egg hunts, movies with our neighbors, remodeling to our house, we have had deliveries of patio furniture, and bonus room sofa beds, you name it, I think we did it this month! Moses, my poor boy, wonders what the heck we are doing. It has allowed for some good nap time for him but alas, we have been missing our Moses boy. Our sweet boy is always waiting for us with his big kisses and his tail wagging when we open up our new front door. Gotta love that dog! He is absolutely our best friend! Next month will be the month of Moses!

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

My Favorite Gourmet Trucks

As of last night, I have now tried 18 food trucks! Only 60 more to go! My friends, Krueger and Kristy joined me at 55 Degree Wine in Atwar Village to try the always busy Grilled Cheese Truck! I have run into the truck a few times now but something has always prevented me from trying their food. Mostly the really, really long lines!! This time the hour wait wasn't so bad with two girls to gossip with. By the time we got to the front we were ready to execute our food plan. Kristy took lead and placed an order for 3 sandwiches (the brie, the mac-n-cheese and the rib meat) plus the dessert sandwich and some tator tots!!! I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the sandwich I went for, the Harvest sandwich but the 3 sandwiches we got more than made up for everything. I was glad to try this truck with 2 girls because we split the sandiches in 3rds which was awesome because I got to try a variety of their sandwiches. Now I must add the Grilled Cheese Truck to my list of fa...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...
