So last night we had dinner with Caroline & Minh and Matt & his girlfriend, Susanne, whom he has been dating since August. Two weeks ago, when our dinner with Caroline and Minh turned out to a fun night of reminiscing, we scheduled another dinner. Then we ran into Matt during our Great Liquor giveaway and he mentioned getting together and so our party of four turned into a party of six. Caroline cooked up some BBQ spare ribs, mac-n-cheese, creamed corn and broccoli soup (for the ailing Minh who had just gotten his wisdom teeth pulled). Matt's GF brought some yummy garlic mashed potatoes. In what kitchen we had left, we made cornbread and asparagus. Suffice to say, with our cocktails in hand, we sat down to a feast. It was really nice to not only be with old friends but to have a nice dinner. Hubbers and I are not used to having such a complete meal. We are lucky if we even get to eat with our crazy nightly schedule! Hubbers and I had met Susanne a few times before but for Caroline this was the first introduction. I think it can be agreed that this new girl of Matt's is really nice. In comparison to "She Who Won't Be Named" she is a complete 360. She is human. It's nice to see your friend with someone who is a) nice, b) who down to earth and c) someone who puts a smile on your friend's face. And this girl had Matt smiling a ton! I believe in first impressions and I knew from the moment I met "She Who Won't Be Named" that we would never be friends. There was just something about her that I didn't like. I tried, oh did I try, but I never liked that wife of Matt's. And I know she didn't like me either. So that pretty much caused a lot of uncomfortable situations for however long they were married for. So when I met this girl, boy was I ever relieved to discover she was a normal person, a fun person, and a person that made our friend happy. That other girl, never made any of us happy. After Matt and his lady left, I picked Caroline's brain and she had the same assessment as me. That this girl was special. (Oh don't tell Matt that). So we will wait and see what lies ahead for this couple. Hopefully, we can have dinner again in our new kitchen!
As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen. If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public. Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me. Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....
