All Gone!

Yesterday, marked the first day of our kitchen remodel. Gone are the 3 small rooms that spilled together to form our kitchen/washer/dryer/buffet/dining area. Our contractor said he works fast but I had no idea he could completely rip apart cabinets, and tear down walls in one day! I told the foreman last night that I just couldn't believe all the work they had done! Besides firming up our design and buying all of our new appliances, we have picked out our cabinet style (white shaker) and a grey-black floor tile. Today is electrical day. So all of our lights and outlets will be installed when we go home tonight. While they are there we are having them install two recessed lights in our living room to shine on the Hawaii bamboo forrest picture. It's very exciting to see our home change once again, as I believe this is now the second remodeling since the house was built in 1939. Here is a picture of what our new kitchen area looks like as of last night. There is so much space I can't hardly believe it!
We have our make shift kitchen set up in our dining room. We did a ton of laundry and made some dishes (probably not as many as we should have). It feels like we are camping out in the living room as that is where we spend all of our time now. The doors to the backyard are cut off so it makes taking Moses out a little difficult but so far its an adventure. An expensive adventure but hey, that is why we work hard in life to enjoy nice things. Hopefully, my nice kitchen is just around the corner!

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

7th Birthday

Mark ur calendars, Dec 12 is an awesome day to go to Disneyland! There was no one at the park yesterday morning. We had 3 amazing hours 8am to 11am to ride! Some Disneyland records we set yesterday:  ✅A After many years, we finally got a wristband (and bought) a giant Disneyland candy cane.  ✅F First people on pirates of the carribean.  ✅ Line for Indiana Jones was 10 minutes long  😳  This never happens and we sat next to the people (strangers) who sat next to us on pirates b ut we did not walk over to the ride with them. ✅ By a fluke, we were also the first people on Big Thunder Mountain and kiddo rode in the cart by herself! (They opened late and we were in the right spot) ✅Kiddo  rode front seat on Matterhorn because a kind guy, his first visit, said he was too tall to sit in front and she wouldn’t be able to see sitting behind him ✅ Prode space mountain for the first time and huffed that it wasn’t scary and it was no IncrediCoaster. And the line...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...
