Things Are Progressing

As fall progresses so does project baby. The last few weeks have been pretty busy both at work and at home. At work we are down five positions in my department. My coordinator, just turned in her resignation letter this past week, which stressed me out because now I have to find a replacement for her and train them and find my temporary replacement and train them. In addition to those two positions we have three other positions we have to fill. Now I was doing extremely well in not stressing these past months but I couldn't help it this past week. My coordinator is so good and helps me out so much it feels like I can't possibly find another person so good. Anyhoo, works just crazy. I think my boss may be worried I won't return after the baby as he has been showing me weird flow charts where I am promoted. But alas I can't really believe them because the reason we are down so many people is because no one feels appreciated aka the company refuses to promote anyone. I won't get into it but alas I think corporate America doesn't value loyalty like they did back in our parents days. People can be easily replaced because there are so many people out of work. If u complain or ask for a raise the big wigs don't care, they just get another body and it doesn't matter if that body is only half as good. They would rather pay the new body more han give the old body a decent raise. I don't get it. Alas, it is what it is, the economy sucks.

Anyhow I try not to think about work when I am not there because there is just too much work I can't get done when I am already doing too many people's jobs so why worry about it. Someday someone will figure it out. Meanwhile the ceonof my company just took home a record bonus and we just reported a record summer on wall streetl.....anyhow, I don't get it? What I do get is that my daughter likes to kick and punch me. She certainly likes to give my insides a work out. She even kicked me in the vagina. Hope that isn't too TMI for yah but it is the weirdest feeling in the world to be kicked in the vagina! I am getting pretty excited to meet her!

The fall seems to be progressing, just yesterday it was August and now we are closing out September. This Wednesday hubby and I take our hospital tour and visit the maternity ward. I have no idea what questions to ask and I am relying on my forum ladies to help with questions. So far they have some good questions like private room vs shared room? Can u eat while in labor? Can hubby stay with the baby the entire time? What to pack and when to have ur bag ready? Do u prerigister? So much to remember on Wednesday.

Also on Wednesday is my 1 hour glucose test to test for diabetes. I guess a ton of people fail it and have to take a 3 hour fasting test. I hope I pass andi am trying to eat no sugar this weekend but that is hard. I think I will fast the night before. Eat dinner early and then not eat till 9am. I hope that works.

Besides these events we finished garage sale number 2 and took the remaining stuff to goodwill. Baby girls room is ready for big items like a rug, bookcase, daybed and other decorations. We even got the bonus room fixed up for the onslaught of guests we are expecting. I hired a monthly cleaning service and OMG it's the best money I have spent! I cant get over how clean my house is!

Next weekend, the first of October, we plan to take a break from project baby and go to Palm Springs with some friends of ours. My friend is loaning us his house for the weekend. I am soooooo excited to get out of town for the weekend and hang with friends!!! Super sweet! We also have tickets to a hawaiian concert so that should be cool.

Later in the month, we have a shower to look forward to in Sanger with family. So that should be pretty cool too. October is looking to be a fun month. All of our preparing is starting to pay off! Only 12 more weeks till meet my baby girl!

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

My Favorite Gourmet Trucks

As of last night, I have now tried 18 food trucks! Only 60 more to go! My friends, Krueger and Kristy joined me at 55 Degree Wine in Atwar Village to try the always busy Grilled Cheese Truck! I have run into the truck a few times now but something has always prevented me from trying their food. Mostly the really, really long lines!! This time the hour wait wasn't so bad with two girls to gossip with. By the time we got to the front we were ready to execute our food plan. Kristy took lead and placed an order for 3 sandwiches (the brie, the mac-n-cheese and the rib meat) plus the dessert sandwich and some tator tots!!! I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the sandwich I went for, the Harvest sandwich but the 3 sandwiches we got more than made up for everything. I was glad to try this truck with 2 girls because we split the sandiches in 3rds which was awesome because I got to try a variety of their sandwiches. Now I must add the Grilled Cheese Truck to my list of fa...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...
