Happy Birthday To Me!

Yesterday, I turned 36 years old. I was supposed to go to Disneyland with my old roommate, Rebekah and her kids, but alas my ankle injury prevented that from taking place. Instead, I went to work and had a very nice day. One of my co-workers made Frito Pie in honor of the Footloose Trailer (yes, there is a Frito pie appearance). Someone sent me some yummy chocolate chip cookies and another person sent me this beautiful bouquet of flowers!!! I received several cards with birthday wishes. Overall a low key day but it was very nice at the same time. It doesn't' always have to be a big blow out or an Alice In Wonderland party. hehehe

When I got home from work hubby took me to a nice Italian dinner where we heard a piano player play oldies but goodies in a very Soprano's type scene. The restaurant was decorated in a way that it felt very old world, very New York, very Italian. It was nice to have dinner with hubby and when the baby comes we will have to make time to have date nights.

Well, only two more days till I find out if my baby is a boy or a girl. I am so excited! Hubby and my MIL are going to be there with me so I hope the baby performs so the tech can get all the measurements it needs. I am praying my anatomy scan goes well and the baby has 10 toes, 10 fingers, a spin and all the necessary parts aka is healthy!! Also, baby needs to spread those legs so we can see for sure what they are made of!! ha ha.

I have been waiting for this day so I can buy paint and furniture for the nursery!!!! I have it all planned out on how I want it to look. I just need to have a garage sale sometime in August to clean out some of our big items in the nursery and in the bonus room, as I would like to make that back room nice for all he guests that are coming!!! My mom is going to try and get permission to come over Christmas which is very exciting since I haven't spent one single Christmas with her in the 14 years I have been in California. Why? Because I always had a job and shecurrently has a job where she is required to work on Christmas. This year, I could have a big family Christmas with both my family and Brian's! It could be very Norman Rockwell as I have always imagined.....or they could all kill each other! hahaha Then my brother rang and he says he and his family plan to visit sometime in the new year so the little cousins can meet. This is why I would like to make that back room really nice. But first the nursery!!!

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...

7th Birthday

Mark ur calendars, Dec 12 is an awesome day to go to Disneyland! There was no one at the park yesterday morning. We had 3 amazing hours 8am to 11am to ride! Some Disneyland records we set yesterday:  ✅A After many years, we finally got a wristband (and bought) a giant Disneyland candy cane.  ✅F First people on pirates of the carribean.  ✅ Line for Indiana Jones was 10 minutes long  😳  This never happens and we sat next to the people (strangers) who sat next to us on pirates b ut we did not walk over to the ride with them. ✅ By a fluke, we were also the first people on Big Thunder Mountain and kiddo rode in the cart by herself! (They opened late and we were in the right spot) ✅Kiddo  rode front seat on Matterhorn because a kind guy, his first visit, said he was too tall to sit in front and she wouldn’t be able to see sitting behind him ✅ Prode space mountain for the first time and huffed that it wasn’t scary and it was no IncrediCoaster. And the line...
