August 5th, Can't Wait!

There are two types of pregnant couples, those that like surprises and those that don't. Hubby and I fall into the "don't" category. Aka we are gonna find out the sex of the baby. I have total respect for the people that can wait until birth but gosh darn it I don't have that much will power!!! Plus, baby clothes really are super cute.

This past week though the date I was supposed to find out has changed!! It has changed to later rather than sooner. I went to see my doctor the other day and told him I had my anatomy scan on July 25th and he asked why I was going to the USC place. I replied, well after I went there for my NT scan they automatically made an appointment for the anatomy scan. I didn't know I had another choice.

Then I asked quizzically, "I have other options?" He went on to explain that they only send patients to the USC place for NT scans because that is a very precise genetic test. He went on to say, that his office can perform the anatomy scan for a lot less money than the USC folks. I was like "cheaper," okay then. But then he said he was moving the date until August 5th. He acted like it was no big deal but I wanted to take back my cheapness. He said the reason he was moving it was he felt that the scan at 18 weeks was too early so he wanted to wait until 20 weeks aka the half way mark to do the scan. I reluctantly bought into his doctor wisdom but I was still disappointed I had to wait!

So I went from going to know what the sex of my baby in two weeks to four!!! It's hard to wait because on the forums all the ladies are finding out the sex of their babies. I feel like I am the last one left. I guess you can pay to go to a 3D/4D clinic that will tell you results earlier. I suppose I can wait...meanwhile, cute onesies and the paint for the nursery await.

Bummer dude!! Now these next 4 weeks need to go by quick!!

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

My Favorite Gourmet Trucks

As of last night, I have now tried 18 food trucks! Only 60 more to go! My friends, Krueger and Kristy joined me at 55 Degree Wine in Atwar Village to try the always busy Grilled Cheese Truck! I have run into the truck a few times now but something has always prevented me from trying their food. Mostly the really, really long lines!! This time the hour wait wasn't so bad with two girls to gossip with. By the time we got to the front we were ready to execute our food plan. Kristy took lead and placed an order for 3 sandwiches (the brie, the mac-n-cheese and the rib meat) plus the dessert sandwich and some tator tots!!! I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the sandwich I went for, the Harvest sandwich but the 3 sandwiches we got more than made up for everything. I was glad to try this truck with 2 girls because we split the sandiches in 3rds which was awesome because I got to try a variety of their sandwiches. Now I must add the Grilled Cheese Truck to my list of fa...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...
