Lollipop's Book Club

So the last month I wrote I was going to try and read some books over the summer and provided a list of summer reading I had found on the internet. After looking on Amazon and at Barnes and Nobles (although I love their books stores, their books are a little pricey) I finally purchased some reads the other night when I was at Target. I decided to buy three books as they were super cheap. Here is what I bought to start off my summer book reading program.

1. Water for Elephants

and

2. Two Charlene Harris books a.k.a. two Sookie Stackhouse books (the first two in the series).

I decided to start with Water for Elephants as I read this week they are making a movie out of this book (of course) with Rob Pattinson (Edward from Twilight) and Reese Witherspoon. It seems to center on the circus. Well, at least what the book covers leads me to believe. I only got a few pages in because I decided to take a bubble bath and read and well, if I wanted the book to remain unwet it is probably best if I don't take it in the tub with me. Instead I took a bubble bath and sang along to iTunes like the inner rockstar that I am.

I have yet to check out the Eagle Rock Library but I did do some research and found out what times it is open. I am glad I did because boy do they ever have the craziest schedule. They are open at different hours each day. Perhaps once I get the reading underway I will go and check out the library. Anyway, wish me luck! With three books I should be a little busy.

Vaccine Part 1

As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen.  If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public.  Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me.  Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....

Random Thoughts as the Weekend Closes

Today I got a friend request from my mother-in-law. Will she embrace the FaceBook? We wait and see. Technology is cool...I got to speak to my friend in Hong Kong today. The BlindSide is a really heartwarming and good movie. I didn't know what to expect. I saw Sandra in blond hair and I thought cheesy. Now I can't decide whether I want her or Meryl to win the Oscar. Cats are really nice creatures. I haven't really had much exposure to one before. I especially like the fact that you can hold them like babies. I wonder if I stole Mr. Chuckles if anyone would notice? hum. Bartenders blowing fire makes for an interesting drink at the bar. Plantains are better when they come with your meal and not as an appetizer. I met a man who wanted to see Leap Year. Krueger continues to take jobs that suck ass and take up her precious time. Sorry CougarTown screwed ur day up Krugs. We missed u at the movies today. Ever since I got Mo I have meet the most interesting people ...

7th Birthday

Mark ur calendars, Dec 12 is an awesome day to go to Disneyland! There was no one at the park yesterday morning. We had 3 amazing hours 8am to 11am to ride! Some Disneyland records we set yesterday:  ✅A After many years, we finally got a wristband (and bought) a giant Disneyland candy cane.  ✅F First people on pirates of the carribean.  ✅ Line for Indiana Jones was 10 minutes long  😳  This never happens and we sat next to the people (strangers) who sat next to us on pirates b ut we did not walk over to the ride with them. ✅ By a fluke, we were also the first people on Big Thunder Mountain and kiddo rode in the cart by herself! (They opened late and we were in the right spot) ✅Kiddo  rode front seat on Matterhorn because a kind guy, his first visit, said he was too tall to sit in front and she wouldn’t be able to see sitting behind him ✅ Prode space mountain for the first time and huffed that it wasn’t scary and it was no IncrediCoaster. And the line...
