Happy New Years!

Holy Shit! Can you believe its going to be 2010 tomorrow?? I think my friend Jeff said it best today when he said 2010 is stuff of sci-fi movies. It was only 10 years ago we were preparing for Y2K. I was working at the theatres back then and we were all wondering if all the computers would shut down when it turned midnight? Well, they didn't as we all know. I don't really do new years resolutions or anything but here are some things I want to try or do more of in 2010: - get together with friends more which requires more planning on my part - get really good at Super Mario Bros Wii... meaning get past level 2 - lose my 15 cheeseburger lbs and rediscover Wii Fit (I know everyone wants to lose weight) - take a fun class with hubby. Maybe Yoga or photography. I really liked Yoga when I was getting fit for my wedding - read one book a month in honor of Mr. Rumsey - cook new and exciting things ala Julia Childs and bake more cuz gosh darn it I find it relaxing - grow ...

I heart Rock Band

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. I know we sure did! The hub, who is always a thoughtful gift giver wowed me once again with an Anthropologie gift card, JCrew t-shirts, a popcorn machine and a pair of Hunter rain boots which I have been totally wanting since I went to London this past summer. The hub used these pretty hair clips to attach name tags to the presents and somehow managed to get our dog, Moses to address each name tag and leave comments (so cute!). Babe knows I love Anthropologie, he knows I have a crazy passion for popcorn and he even tracked down the last pair of black, size 6 rain boots in the United States because I have a hankering to walk in the rain. And a girl must have knee high rain boots to splash around in or at the very least, to look trendy in, in LA. So you are probably asking what I got the hubby. Well, since the hubby has a birthday only two days before xmas, there were a lot of presents for him. However, I must say, I think I did a bad job ...

Moses Does Christmas - Round One

Last night Hubby and I decided to open our presents to each other and to tear into our stockings. They had been hanging by the fire place for a month and good thing we were all good this month....well, okay mostly good, because Santa stopped by to fill up our stockings! Here are some photos of Moses finding all the goodies in his stockings.

An Animal Birthday

The hubby's birthday began at 12:01AM. Yes, we stayed up late and Mo and I immediately bombarded Brian with Birthday propaganda such as hats, whistles, necklaces, signage and of course presents. Hubby opened his presents which consisted mostly of games, books, and DVD's. Then we went to bed. When we woke up in the morning Mo had brought daddy another gift. He opened this gift and it was a new shirt and jacket for dinner. Hubby met me at work and we watched Grease on the big screen and not only that it was a sing along print so everyone in the theatre was singing. After the movie we went to lunch and had a lazy afternoon and then it was time for dinner. For hubby's birthday dinner I made reservations at Animal, a restaurant he has been wanting to try for a long time. Our waiter suggested sharing a bunch of appetizers and sharing one meal so we followed his advise and ordered the following: adult beverages, pig ear, chili, lime, fried egg & barbeque pork...

Do You Have the Holiday Spirit??

I can't believe we are only 6 days away from Christmas!! It's been a pretty good season so far! I met up with my girlfriends I used to work with at Artisan for a holiday drinks and ice skating at the W Hotel in Westwood. Then the hub and I had the 81st Street Boys and their wives over for an x-mas/hubby birthday/sleep over celebratory party. We ate at a super good French restaurant, Cafe Beaujolais, in our neighborhood which I so can't believe we had never tried before?!? This week has been holiday lunches at work or long lunches shopping for presents. Yesterday, my boss held a white elephant party in his office. He bought all the gifts and watched all his employees fight over them. It was one of the funniest gift exchanges ever! I got a nice bottle of vodka, some bejeweled flip flops, gift certificates to McDonald's, $25 in cash and lottery tickets that won me another $5 bucks. That was in the morning and in the afternoon we had our department lunch which w...

Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down?

Today the Golden Globes Nominations came out and it got me thinking about all the movies I want to see and about the ones I have seen so far that are up for some awards. The Movies I Have Seen The Fantastic Mr. Fox - Thumbs Up - This movie is more quirkie adult than kiddie film Up In The Air - Thumbs Up - One of the best movies of the year, I think The Princess and the Frog - See It - The return to good 2D animation Pirate Radio - Thumbs Up - Surprisingly fun Britsih type movie. Loved the Soundtrack! Julie and Julia - Thumbs Up - If you haven't seen it you must! Couples Retreat - Thumbs Up - Fun in a mindless way 500 Days of Summer - I am not sure how to rate - I didn't like this as much as I thought I would. But it might be because it turned out to be a non-gooey-romantic film. I didn't find it as engaging as I thought I would. UP - Thumbs Up - Totally good Disney flick, should win animation Oscar Inglorious Basterds - Thumbs Up - Not Quinten's best work but still good...

Season's Greetings Everyone!

Random Moments

Water Bowl Earlier this week I happened to notice my dog's butt sticking out of our Christmas Tree. Seems he thought the tree's water bowl was his new water bowl. Pine scented water anyone? As The World Turns Earlier this week my husband, who is quite often forced to watch soap operas...well, forced is a strong word. He happens to be sitting on the couch when I watch them....says to me "Would you start watching another soap opera if yours got canceled?" I said "No, I have been watching my two shows for 21 years. Why would I watch a new one when I am so invested in these old ones?" He basically concluded that the only way he would get out of watching my shows was if they got cancelled. Skip ahead two days...when he sends me a link to a story via Facebook announcing the cancelation of my soap opera, As The World Turns in September 2010. His comment: "One down. I think I have a some sort of super power." Alluding that his previous conversation ...
