An Animal Birthday

The hubby's birthday began at 12:01AM. Yes, we stayed up late and Mo and I immediately bombarded Brian with Birthday propaganda such as hats, whistles, necklaces, signage and of course presents. Hubby opened his presents which consisted mostly of games, books, and DVD's. Then we went to bed. When we woke up in the morning Mo had brought daddy another gift. He opened this gift and it was a new shirt and jacket for dinner. Hubby met me at work and we watched Grease on the big screen and not only that it was a sing along print so everyone in the theatre was singing. After the movie we went to lunch and had a lazy afternoon and then it was time for dinner.

For hubby's birthday dinner I made reservations at Animal, a restaurant he has been wanting to try for a long time. Our waiter suggested sharing a bunch of appetizers and sharing one meal so we followed his advise and ordered the following: adult beverages, pig ear, chili, lime, fried egg & barbeque pork belly sandwiches, slaw & foie gras, biscuits, maple sausage gravy & veal breast, polenta, savoy cabbage, prosciutto & joe's doughnuts, cinnamon sugar, caramel. Above is the full menu for Dec 22. The menu changes daily.

No birthday is complete without a birthday Mo!

This was taken at 12:01AM. Let the day of birthday activities begin!

Mo, doing what he does best, tearing up stuff!

Vaccine Part 1

As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen.  If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public.  Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me.  Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....

Random Thoughts as the Weekend Closes

Today I got a friend request from my mother-in-law. Will she embrace the FaceBook? We wait and see. Technology is cool...I got to speak to my friend in Hong Kong today. The BlindSide is a really heartwarming and good movie. I didn't know what to expect. I saw Sandra in blond hair and I thought cheesy. Now I can't decide whether I want her or Meryl to win the Oscar. Cats are really nice creatures. I haven't really had much exposure to one before. I especially like the fact that you can hold them like babies. I wonder if I stole Mr. Chuckles if anyone would notice? hum. Bartenders blowing fire makes for an interesting drink at the bar. Plantains are better when they come with your meal and not as an appetizer. I met a man who wanted to see Leap Year. Krueger continues to take jobs that suck ass and take up her precious time. Sorry CougarTown screwed ur day up Krugs. We missed u at the movies today. Ever since I got Mo I have meet the most interesting people ...

7th Birthday

Mark ur calendars, Dec 12 is an awesome day to go to Disneyland! There was no one at the park yesterday morning. We had 3 amazing hours 8am to 11am to ride! Some Disneyland records we set yesterday:  ✅A After many years, we finally got a wristband (and bought) a giant Disneyland candy cane.  ✅F First people on pirates of the carribean.  ✅ Line for Indiana Jones was 10 minutes long  😳  This never happens and we sat next to the people (strangers) who sat next to us on pirates b ut we did not walk over to the ride with them. ✅ By a fluke, we were also the first people on Big Thunder Mountain and kiddo rode in the cart by herself! (They opened late and we were in the right spot) ✅Kiddo  rode front seat on Matterhorn because a kind guy, his first visit, said he was too tall to sit in front and she wouldn’t be able to see sitting behind him ✅ Prode space mountain for the first time and huffed that it wasn’t scary and it was no IncrediCoaster. And the line...
