Bye Summer! Thanks for the Good Times!

So our dog Moses has sure gotten around a lot lately. And by gotten around I mean traveling. First Big Bear and this past weekend, Palm Springs. This opportunity for travel came about because one of Brian's buddies wanted to spend his birthday in Palm Springs with his pals. So the boys of 81st Street minus Toby and plus the wives, rented a house with a pool and BBQ and luckily, for an additional pet fee, MoMo could relax by the pool and sip margaritas. Okay...so, Mommy sat by the pool and drank margaritas and MoMo had fun checking out what everyone in the house was doing. The boys liked to play video games while the girls liked to swim in the pool and sun themselves. The weather all weekend was beautiful and just perfect for hanging out.

Palm Springs didn't seem to be as pet friendly as Big Bear but that didn' stop us from taking him everywhere. Once again he was a rock star. Getting all the oohs and aahs from the passer bys when we took him to town. He even got to go to an outside bar where a crazy lady sang 70's disco music. He really liked the the Bar Keep Guy, who kept bringing him bowls of water and dog biscuits. Mo told me he will go to the bar anytime.

One thing Palm Springs was lacking was...grass. A ton of people have front yards made of stones which made it hard for MoMo to take a dump on his walks. Pooping on rocks isn't as exciting as pooping on bushes and grass. MoMo did find that he hates cactus'. He must of ran into one because we had to pull out little prickly things from his skin. Poor little baby/pumpkin head. Then he got bumps all over his skin. We weren't sure if it was hives or a reaction to the cactus pricklers or what, cuz he did barf twice in one night (which is somthing we have never seen him do...well, okay in the car to Big Bear but those were twisty roads!)? He spent the weekend scratching a lot. Poor Baby. We gave him a big ole bath when he got home to hopefully make him feel better. Poor little guy.

Despite his problems he did very much like hanging out with his Uncle Matt and loved seeing all his other friends. He enjoyed watching the dog on that WiiGames Frisbee tournament. The gang was all amazed at how completely spoiled MoMo is and how his parents are complete suckers. What can I say, he has the cutest darn face and temper. How can I say no to my cute baby? Anyhoo, when all was said and done it was good times for all. We left Palm Springs this morning at about 10AM. The sun and the warm weather must have left with us because it was nothing but clouds all the way home. Looks like we just experienced the last weekend of summer. We had to turn on the heat when we got back to our house and put on a sweater. I guess summer has once again come and gone.

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...

7th Birthday

Mark ur calendars, Dec 12 is an awesome day to go to Disneyland! There was no one at the park yesterday morning. We had 3 amazing hours 8am to 11am to ride! Some Disneyland records we set yesterday:  ✅A After many years, we finally got a wristband (and bought) a giant Disneyland candy cane.  ✅F First people on pirates of the carribean.  ✅ Line for Indiana Jones was 10 minutes long  😳  This never happens and we sat next to the people (strangers) who sat next to us on pirates b ut we did not walk over to the ride with them. ✅ By a fluke, we were also the first people on Big Thunder Mountain and kiddo rode in the cart by herself! (They opened late and we were in the right spot) ✅Kiddo  rode front seat on Matterhorn because a kind guy, his first visit, said he was too tall to sit in front and she wouldn’t be able to see sitting behind him ✅ Prode space mountain for the first time and huffed that it wasn’t scary and it was no IncrediCoaster. And the line...
