Letting Loose!

I am really thankful that we have almost made it through this month! It was long and exhausting with all the various mishaps that have happened. The thing that has been roughest is having the hub's car break down. We have been doing a combo of driving and taking the bus and its not only exhausting on hubby but me too. You really never know how thankful u r to have two cars until one is taken away. Having only one car really takes a lot of time out of both of our days. Throw a dog who needs to be walked twice a day in and suddenly you find yourself spending your entire day walking the dog, driving or on the bus, working, then driving or on the bus, walking the dog, and making dinner. By the time we get settled on the couch its pretty late and we are too tired to do chores or run errands so we had to save those for the weekends. I am sure by now you understand we were running all over the place every minute of everyday non-stop.

Suffice to say, I am really looking forward to this Saturday when the hubby, hopefully if all goes to plan, buys a new car and then we can take that car to buy some Halloween costumes and take that car to go party it up in Hollywood for Halloween. I am so looking forward to letting loose at this club one of my vendors is renting out. I can't wait to party it up! Of course, we will have to dress the dog up in his pumpkin suit in the middle of all the car buying and costume buying and parade him around the neighborhood before we go drink tons of alcohol and dance till we drop. Can you tell I am ready to let loose?

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

My Favorite Gourmet Trucks

As of last night, I have now tried 18 food trucks! Only 60 more to go! My friends, Krueger and Kristy joined me at 55 Degree Wine in Atwar Village to try the always busy Grilled Cheese Truck! I have run into the truck a few times now but something has always prevented me from trying their food. Mostly the really, really long lines!! This time the hour wait wasn't so bad with two girls to gossip with. By the time we got to the front we were ready to execute our food plan. Kristy took lead and placed an order for 3 sandwiches (the brie, the mac-n-cheese and the rib meat) plus the dessert sandwich and some tator tots!!! I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the sandwich I went for, the Harvest sandwich but the 3 sandwiches we got more than made up for everything. I was glad to try this truck with 2 girls because we split the sandiches in 3rds which was awesome because I got to try a variety of their sandwiches. Now I must add the Grilled Cheese Truck to my list of fa...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...
