The Grim Reaper Sure Has Been Busy

So can anyone else believe that Michael Jackson died? Ed McMahon was older and Farrah Facett had a terminal diesease so her passing wasn't a surprise but Michael Jackson seemed like he would go on with his veil of weirdness for a long time. I guess you really don't know when your time is up? Where was I when I found out?...checking my Facebook status and noticing that everyone's status was saying he was dead or rushed to the hopsital. So I turned on the TV in my office and sure enough there was a story about him. I must say I felt sad. Farrah was prime in the 70's when I was just a little kid and Ed had been a star since I was born but Michael Jackson's songs spent a ton of time in my jukebox when I was growing up. Who didn't rock out to Thriller? I mean even me, who didn't have access to MTV found a way to watch his videos at friend's houses. I remember my girlfriend Nicole was in love with him. I was never was in love with him but I thought ...

I'm Going to be an Aunt, Again

So a few weeks ago, I was talking to my mother when she mentioned that I should talk to my brother. She didn't say it excitedly but she did say it twice and I was like "Oh why, is he having a baby or something?" So I call my brother and we talk for about 20 minutes ( not hearing anything he is saying because I am waiting for the important news to be delivered) before he confirms that him and his wife are having a baby. Now when your baby brother tells you he is becoming a dad, a girl, who in this case happens to be me, can't deny that she is indeed an adult and indeed within child bearing years and that is a scary fact for a person like me. Sometimes I like to think I am still a kid so the possibility of having a kid when you think you are kid is a hard thing to process. But that computer brain of mine processed the fact that my baby brother is old and I am old and he, in a few short months is going to have this life he is responsible for. While I was complete...

My Two Boys

I Love Being a Dog Owner!

Having a dog does change your life but the change is for the better. Of course its more work but the love that you get from this other living being is so worth it! I think I have been on more walks in the lst two days than I have been in on in the last 6 months. So having a dog is good for my health too. Before adopting Moses,I was worried about so many things but you know what once you get one you just learn to chill and go with the flow. I can't begin to tell you how happy Moses make me. I go to work a little later and leave a bit sooner, all so I can get home and see my boys. I highly recommend checking out www.Petfinder.com if you are in the market to adding pets to your life or even going to your local shelters. There are so many animals that need a good home. I thought I would get a baby puppy but having a 1 1/2year old puppy is just as fun and I am sure a little bit easier. Anyway, if you have been on the fence about adding dogs to your life I am here to tell you ta...

It's All About Clayton

So my little nephew (on my husband's side), Clayton, has been taking Karate Lessons. He just turned four so he begun when he was 3 years old. I am told that he is better then some of the older kids. Which I totally believe cause he is such a smarty and I really am not being biased. He is smarter than your average four year old!! I haven't seen him in action but I wanted to share his latest accomplishment. He received a yellow belt the other night! Congratulations Clayton!!

Happy Birthday Kiddo!

Happy Birthday to my nephew, Clayton, who turns 4 years old today. Can't wait to celebrate with yah this weekend!

Isn't He Just Adorable?

This is the dog the hub and I are trying to adopt. His name is Moses and he is a medium sized dog. He is a 1 and a half year old Lab mix. We found him on Petfinder online through a rescue group called MuttScouts. We went to a party last weekend and someone suggested looking on Petfinder as they feature a ton of dogs that need to be adopted all over the US. This week the hub showed me a couple of dogs and this guy grabbed my attention. We filled out an application this past week and we meet him yesterday. It's down to another couple and us. We hope he becomes part of our family. Cross your fingers for us!

Susan's Wedding Shower

Two years and four months ago, my friend Susan met her husband, Kevin at my bacherlotte party. You just never know when Mr. Right is going to turn up. And now the countdown begins for her. In one month, on July 4th, Susan is getting married on the beachfront in Laguna Beach. It will be the first military wedding I will have ever been too. The Groom is a Navy pilot. I so can't wait to see all those guys in their Navy Service Whites. Can you say Officer and a Gentlemen? I have a feeling its going to be a great wedding! Above are some photos from today's Wedding Shower in Orange.

What A Pane!

So this morning through a referral of the hub's co-worker we met with a window guy. A house as most home owners know, is a never ending project and I mean this in a good way and not as a complaint. It's like a blank canvas and each week as you look at Home Depo, some cool catalogue, visit Crate and Barrel, or go to a good rock and pottery store you imagine what those stores can do to add you the beauty of your house. Year two of owning our house has mainly found us focusing on our backyard but recently we decided that it was time to check off one of our more bigger ticket items...windows. So we have been gathering bids. We still have the original 1939 windows that came with the house. Now they are wicked cool, but unfortunately, they are made of wood and well, they are not the thickest things known to mankind. Now with the energy crazy and the economic times bringing out good deals its time to upgrade those puppies and hopefully, block out that big german shepherd ...
