So Sunday night the hub and I were coming home from our acupuncture appointment when we saw a yellow cat sitting along the side of the road. The cat was in front of an empty lot. From where we were in our car it looked like this cat was a little kitten. Seeing as we have been all into animals lately this caused concern for my hubby who stopped the car. He got out of the car and approached the cat. From the car, I see him pick it up and stroak his head and back. He brings the cat to the car where I clearly see that this is not a kitten but a grown cat. The hub says we should take it home. So we look at the collar and it says the cat's name is "Chester" and that he belongs on a nearby street. So the hub brings the cat in the car. Immediately, the cat starts to fight the hubby and his claws come out. The hub tries to pet the cat more insisting to the cat that we were only taking him home. So we start the car and turn around toward the street where the cat belongs. About 1 minute into the ride I say the name of the street out loud again. And I say to my hubby, "Hey hub, we're on that street!" You see, our street is named one thing in Eagle Rock and then it turns into another street in Glendale. So realizing that we were on the street where the cat belonged we stop the car and look at the address on the cat's collar again. From where were were at we didn't seem to be near the address of where the cat belongs. In fact, the address seemed to be pointing back to where we came from. So slowly we make our way back to where we got the cat. Turns out that the cat belonged to a house across the street from where we found the cat! We got confused because we were at the spot when the numbers changed from Glendale to Eagle Rock. Realising our mistake we drop Chester back off where we got him. We start toward home and I turn to my husband and said, "Babe, we just kidnapped a cat." We laughed all the way home.
As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen. If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public. Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me. Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....
