Christmas Isn't Over Yet!

This week has been crazy, what with getting ready for 150 delegates to fly into LA next week and the worldwide conference we are having at work. Been working late each night, so last night, I had to hightail it out of the office and get to my second job, cleaning, baking and general party preparing. The hub is throwing an After Christmas Holiday Party. Over the holidays we didn't get to see many friends so he put the whole thing together. Our frosted tree only has to make it one more day (its sagging a bit). He is making most of the appetizers for the shindig so he has been busy as well, but I have to clean house and bake my desserts and try and figure out how to organize the house to fit 20-30 people!! I was dog tired last night and still got up early today. What happened to the days of sleeping in? I long to be the hub and sleep whenever he wants. Anyhow, excitement is buzzing as we get ready to entertain a crowd at our house. This is the first time we have had so many people come over to our little house so we will see how that works out. Hopefully good, so we can have more parties! This is kinda our test run. Hopefully, it stays warm in LA today so people can wander out to our backyard. After tonight, I have some work dinners to go to on Sunday and Monday and then Tues-Thurs is our conference. We are showing our 2009 line up to a million people. It's been crazy at work trying to source all the materials. Sometime this week I need to get ready for our big Disney Vacation. With the convention days tend to be long. Somewhere I need to find time to go get a mani-pedi, go to target and get all those small bottles of things and try and find a bathing suit to fit my large buttocks! The eating good and no working out only got me a few lost pounds. Well, I guess something is better than nothing. So the countdown begins this week for our big trip. Can't wait to get out of here!

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

My Favorite Gourmet Trucks

As of last night, I have now tried 18 food trucks! Only 60 more to go! My friends, Krueger and Kristy joined me at 55 Degree Wine in Atwar Village to try the always busy Grilled Cheese Truck! I have run into the truck a few times now but something has always prevented me from trying their food. Mostly the really, really long lines!! This time the hour wait wasn't so bad with two girls to gossip with. By the time we got to the front we were ready to execute our food plan. Kristy took lead and placed an order for 3 sandwiches (the brie, the mac-n-cheese and the rib meat) plus the dessert sandwich and some tator tots!!! I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the sandwich I went for, the Harvest sandwich but the 3 sandwiches we got more than made up for everything. I was glad to try this truck with 2 girls because we split the sandiches in 3rds which was awesome because I got to try a variety of their sandwiches. Now I must add the Grilled Cheese Truck to my list of fa...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...
