I am Ashamed to Admit This But...

I joined Facebook. I held out as long as I could but my curiosity got the better of me. I did Friendster, MySpace, Multiplicity and now I am a member of Facebook and I ashamed to admit, I am addicted to it. It seems that everybody is on Facebook. I mean everywhere you turn someone you met at some point in your life asks to be your friend. And you can't say no because it's like being in Vegas and when you start to see the chips come in (aka friend requests) you can't help but accept. It's like some glorified baseball collecting system to see who you can get on your side. Which friend is the most valuable player (aka the one with the most friends). I checked out one of my friends and he has almost 900 friends! Now that is a lot. I am not sure I know 900 people but I guess when you start adding waiters who served you in restaurants the friends really start to rack up. Today I had two people from high school request to be my friends. I wish I was that popular when I was in high school. hehehe.

I am sure some other site will come out soon and take away the popularity of FaceBook. I resisted because I wasn't sure I wanted people to know stuff about me. I mean anyone can just log on and see your drunken photos or discover you still watch soaps. But once you join you just can't help yourself, you keep adding more and more information about yourself. I suddenly find myself filling out questionaires and answering stupid questions like what my favorite TV show is. Does anyone care? Probably not but it takes up time I guess. I joined the Fringe group and the Vernors (that would be a soda made in Michigan) Group. I am not sure what those groups do but I felt like my page needed some groups so I can feel like I belong.

I just accepted friendship from a kid I grew up with. Looked at his profile and boy it sure seems like he is getting all over the world and did I mention he graduated from Harvard recently? Yep, you sure can have hours of fun checking back in on people you might not have seen in a while. For now it seems like a good thing. Well, got to go and check my friend requests. I wonder if I will ever get to 900? Do you get prizes for being cool? That should be the next site.

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

My Favorite Gourmet Trucks

As of last night, I have now tried 18 food trucks! Only 60 more to go! My friends, Krueger and Kristy joined me at 55 Degree Wine in Atwar Village to try the always busy Grilled Cheese Truck! I have run into the truck a few times now but something has always prevented me from trying their food. Mostly the really, really long lines!! This time the hour wait wasn't so bad with two girls to gossip with. By the time we got to the front we were ready to execute our food plan. Kristy took lead and placed an order for 3 sandwiches (the brie, the mac-n-cheese and the rib meat) plus the dessert sandwich and some tator tots!!! I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the sandwich I went for, the Harvest sandwich but the 3 sandwiches we got more than made up for everything. I was glad to try this truck with 2 girls because we split the sandiches in 3rds which was awesome because I got to try a variety of their sandwiches. Now I must add the Grilled Cheese Truck to my list of fa...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...
