"I like THomas"

It's quite early in the morning in Sanger and I am still waiting for my hubby to get out of bed before we meet up with MoMo and Faith for lunch today. Those are Clayton's names for his grandparents. Steve is NoNo and Rosemary is YaYa. Then Grandpa Louie's is the Italian word for Beast. I must say little Clayton is amazingly smart. I am not being biased. He's only two and he can talk up a storm and he knows where and what everything is. We were driving in the car and he pointed out a water tower by name. He is really into Thomas the Train. Everytime he walks into a room he says I like Thomas so I only thought it appropriate that I name this Sanger blog by that name.

Thanksgiving was tasty and filling as usual. Had dinners at the Cardoza's and the Rusca's. The only thing about going to people's dinners is that there are no left overs for you. I have been craving a thick turkey sandwich with mustard with a side of green bean casserole. Perhaps I will have to attempt to make my first turkey for Christmas so I can fulfull that craving.

On Black Friday, we slept in and missed the early morning shopping. Instead at 11:50PM at night we did our big shopping online at Neil and holli's house and bought ourselves our Christmas gift early. We got a new Mac Computer. We really needed a new computer and in a few days after free shipping and a Black Friday discount we have one. I so can't wait to play with all my pictures on it! It will be nice to have memory!

We did manage to make it out to a few stores like Target and the Fresno Mall and took care of one person's Christmas gifts. We also took in two movies, some dinner and hung out with Neil till almost 4am. Yesterday, we went to the Fresno scrapbook store (totally love that place) and had dinner at DiChico's (love, love, love their speghetti).

Off to meet Faith and Morris this afternoon to catch up and talk about the big family trip to DisneyWorld in January 09. The entire gang is going and it will be Clay's first trip. Then it's back to LA to face a week of work.

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...

My Favorite Gourmet Trucks

As of last night, I have now tried 18 food trucks! Only 60 more to go! My friends, Krueger and Kristy joined me at 55 Degree Wine in Atwar Village to try the always busy Grilled Cheese Truck! I have run into the truck a few times now but something has always prevented me from trying their food. Mostly the really, really long lines!! This time the hour wait wasn't so bad with two girls to gossip with. By the time we got to the front we were ready to execute our food plan. Kristy took lead and placed an order for 3 sandwiches (the brie, the mac-n-cheese and the rib meat) plus the dessert sandwich and some tator tots!!! I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the sandwich I went for, the Harvest sandwich but the 3 sandwiches we got more than made up for everything. I was glad to try this truck with 2 girls because we split the sandiches in 3rds which was awesome because I got to try a variety of their sandwiches. Now I must add the Grilled Cheese Truck to my list of fa...
