Today Was A Good Day!

So each year the co-workers try and find new ways to celebrate people's birthdays. Lately, since everyone has come to realize there will be a party on their birthday, the crew has started doing these sneaky surprises that are a few days ahead of your birthday. You never know when you are going to get hit so it makes it hard to take a day off to avoid what is sure to be an embarrassing birthday party. This year I told the crew that I didn't want to have a big ole party and made them promise there would be no big party. Soooooo this morning I get to my office door and there is a hula girl on it. I open the door and to my surprise they had decorated my office like Hawaii. They even flew in two leis from Hawaii and had Hawaiian music playing. I was very touched by the gesture as I have been aching to go to Hawaii. Oddly enough the leis made me feel like I was in Hawaii and for the first time in a long time I was completely relaxed. I sure play Hawaiian music in my offic...

Larkin's Berry Cobbler

It's ummmm ummmm good!

Silver Lake Dog Park

This is us checking out a dog park in our area. We have previously been visiting one in Pasadena. We were not sure if he would like this place because it didn't have grass. Turns out Mo prefers the no grass parks. Seems he loves getting that pretty blonde coat dirty.

Bull Penis' and Worms

Life with Moses is sure interesting. Yesterday we had the shock of our life when we learned our "kid" may have worms. But as it turned out he didn't have worms only maggots!! Can you say yuk? So Saturday I was sweeping up the kitchen floor (which I have to do all the time now since getting a shedding dog) when I saw a white worm like thing on the floor. I only saw one and didn't think much about it as I swept it out the door. Then yesterday the hub came home and said that Moses had these white worms in his poop. My poor baby!! Instant mom freak mode set in. Then I remembered the white worm in the kitchen and I showed my husband the spot where I had seen it. When I went to show him...there was a few more worms. Ewwwww! Upon seeing those creepy crawly worms I freaked out in my head. Remember the movie Bird on a Wire where Goldie Hawn screams when she sees a cockroach in the shower? Well, that is what the inside of my brain was doing...screaming like a crazy...

Aching to go to Hawaii

Oh Hawaii I ache for you!! When will I get back? Whose up for another group vacation to Hawaii? Remembering the fun times....

Mo Says Hello

Happy Friday Everyone!

What A Disappointment!

I was looking forward to Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince like most folks but even though this one is breaking records at the box office, I didn't think it was that great of a film. I am not sure if this one has a new director but it seems that whoever made this one sucked the life out of it. Of course the books are way better than the films but somebody didn't do a very good job with this one. All the good parts were taken out of the film. There didn't seem to be a lot of action, drama or anything really. It was like okay we have to make this one to get to the next book. Overall, I was disappointed. I hope whoever directed this one or wrote it doesn't do the next one!

Today is Window Day

So today we get our new energy efficient windows! They look all shiny and new. It's very exciting. I took the day off because I didn't want my dog to get loose, what with 7 guys roaming around my house. As it turned out, the hub got the day off too. So we are spending it together. I can't wait to see what the windows look like! Apparently, the window company has sent out two crews and they are supposed to get everything done today. Here are the guys unloading all the windows.

Breakfast w/ Loo Dog and Our Dog

Now that we have a dog, it seems that everyone in LA has dogs. So everywhere I go I now see dogs. LA really does seem to be big on its dogs now that I am noticing. One of the hard parts of owning a dog is leaving them at home. Eventually humans have to leave the house but LA has seemed to make a good effort in allowing people to take their dogs more places. Which is great for dog owners because it's really hard to leave Mo, who is part of our family now, behind. So this Sunday, the hub was able to find a brunch place that allowed its visitors to bring along their "fur babies." (This is a term my friend Katrina has invented in reference to my feelings on Mo.) I happened to be on Facebook when my pal, Lisa IM'd me. We talked for a little while and I asked her if she wanted to come to brunch. So she drove over to the house and the four of us headed to a place called Le Petite Boujolies in our neighborhood. Apparently it is a spinoff of a French Restaur...

Margaritas & Tacos

Every year one of our vendors throws a margarita and taco party up in the Bel Air Hills. To give you perspective of how beautiful the view of this house is....you can see The Getty Museum and downtown LA from the backyard. The house itself is made entirely of glass and it is in the shape of a circle. The owner used to be an art dealer so there is a ton of interesting things to look at inside the house. We had been through the house before so we mostly chilled in the backyard and looked at the beautiful LA skyline. We spoke to this guy Fernando who does Spanish voice over work for the vendor. It was very interesting to talk to him. I think being a voice over artist would be a totally awesome gig if I say so myself. You get paid to read a script...how demanding could that be?? Some of my pals from work came and we hung out and drank margaritas and had tacos and tamales. We spent the whole afternoon there and then we got home to see Mo. Below is a picture of Brian trying to...
