Pandemic Valentine's Day

We so miss eating out in good ole LA...with numbers down...we decided to book a table at our favorite restaurant, at good ole Tam O'Shanter. Eating inside restaurants is not permitted however, eating outside is. So we booked a table on the patio to celebrate this most special day of love and like any good movie there was an element of surprise...WIND!!!

Our first trip back to a restaurant was like visiting the Wizard of Oz with men dressed in PPE gear aka facemarks and plastic gloves. We had to following the brick road to our table. The restaurant had set up tents. This has always bugged me. If you are not supposed to eat inside, why is eating inside a tent okay? Anyhow, we got the one table not covered by the tent which was fine by me (safety) but boy was it ever a windy dining experience!  I am pretty sure no droplets could have penetrated our masks in this unique situation.

Despite the weird wind, the meal was absolutely delicious! Prime rib, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, the loveliest of rolls and a nice big Walt Disney themed cocktail! It was nice to feel human again for an hour (our meal sort of sped up in the wind).

Surprisingly, the family opted out dessert. My ice cream loving child decided it was too chilly to eat one of the Tam's famous sundaes so we went home. I am pretty sure my husband thought I was crazy to book this dinner but sometimes a gal needs a little special, especially, in a global pandemic.

Vaccine Part 1

As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen.  If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public.  Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me.  Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....

Random Thoughts as the Weekend Closes

Today I got a friend request from my mother-in-law. Will she embrace the FaceBook? We wait and see. Technology is cool...I got to speak to my friend in Hong Kong today. The BlindSide is a really heartwarming and good movie. I didn't know what to expect. I saw Sandra in blond hair and I thought cheesy. Now I can't decide whether I want her or Meryl to win the Oscar. Cats are really nice creatures. I haven't really had much exposure to one before. I especially like the fact that you can hold them like babies. I wonder if I stole Mr. Chuckles if anyone would notice? hum. Bartenders blowing fire makes for an interesting drink at the bar. Plantains are better when they come with your meal and not as an appetizer. I met a man who wanted to see Leap Year. Krueger continues to take jobs that suck ass and take up her precious time. Sorry CougarTown screwed ur day up Krugs. We missed u at the movies today. Ever since I got Mo I have meet the most interesting people ...

7th Birthday

Mark ur calendars, Dec 12 is an awesome day to go to Disneyland! There was no one at the park yesterday morning. We had 3 amazing hours 8am to 11am to ride! Some Disneyland records we set yesterday:  ✅A After many years, we finally got a wristband (and bought) a giant Disneyland candy cane.  ✅F First people on pirates of the carribean.  ✅ Line for Indiana Jones was 10 minutes long  😳  This never happens and we sat next to the people (strangers) who sat next to us on pirates b ut we did not walk over to the ride with them. ✅ By a fluke, we were also the first people on Big Thunder Mountain and kiddo rode in the cart by herself! (They opened late and we were in the right spot) ✅Kiddo  rode front seat on Matterhorn because a kind guy, his first visit, said he was too tall to sit in front and she wouldn’t be able to see sitting behind him ✅ Prode space mountain for the first time and huffed that it wasn’t scary and it was no IncrediCoaster. And the line...
