Ramblings of a Crazy Woman

Miss P's school asked that all the kids come to school in a super hero outfit this week. However, we didn't have anything super hero-isn in our house so I made a trip to JoAnne's and sewed her a costume. I found this cute fabric and sewed a letter "P" on the back and she selected the name Super Penny. We decorated her mask together. It was a fun little project.

This was our second year in a row, spending Valentine's at Disney except this time we booked a hotel and stayed there all weekend. Moses stayed at a cool new boarding place near our house and from the big smile on his face when I picked him up he seemed to have a good time too. Traffic on Friday was horrible but we did managed to eat dinner at Downtown Disney and go into Disneyland for the parade and fireworks. We even ran into Mickey and Minnie but Penny had fallen asleep so she didn't get to see them. We took in an old times movie at the Lincoln theatre courtesy of the AP Days events going on. We even got a swim in in the hotel's smallest square pool. Suffice to say, we all slept good that night. We woke up on Saturday and found that the hotel offered a free breakfast buffet so we all filled dup before going to the park for another day of fun. This year for Valentine's I booked a hotel in Anaheim so we would have a long weekend at Disneyland. Hubby surprised me with this custom vinylmation, three peas in a pod from our Disney friend and custom maker, Celeste. I will treasure it as I have a christmas decoration of two peas in a pod that represents hubby and I and now this represents the addition of The Girl. I bought hubby some super cold ice cream bowls I thought he could use to keep his Acai Bowl creations super cool and I bought Penny a ton of American doll cloths and other trinkets. It was a fun moment to open valentine's with hubby and Penny in bed. Love my little family.

Date night took us to downtown once again where we tried out this Argentina restaurant that one of the Atwater Village Mom's husband runs. It was good eats for sure!

My friend, Mike did this cute 10 year progress of his daughter with the same Santa Claus at The Grove and I always that that was a cool idea so I stole it and applied it to Penny and hubby's favorite character at Disneyland, the White Rabbit. Here is 5 years of Penny and I "Being Late."

Penny's Dad and I thought it was time for her to learn about chores, making money, saving money, spending money and giving money. So I polled the people of Facebook and scoured the pages of Amazon.com and found this reward chart where Penny can earn stars for work around the house. For every row of stars completed she gets a one dollar. The stars do seem to motivate her to to things. She took her two weeks of saving to Disneyland and was so proud she was able to purchase some sunglasses. She used her money and I was one proud Mom!

I happened to be in the right place at the right time and was able to snap a picture of Minnie and Mickey in their Chinese New Year outfits at DCA.
