I'll admit it I'm a craft girl. I like getting my creative on. So when the Renegade Craft Fair comes to town, which is twice a year (summer and near Christmas) I make time to go. They recently switched the event to Grant Park in downtown which is a lot more easier to walk around and enjoy then the previous location. Plus, it has an awesome kids playground and the perfect spot for food trucks to line up. Hubs and I were planning on sharing our grub but his truck line was a bit longer than mine and by the time he got his food 45 minutes later my waffle fries covered in pulled pork from the Peaches Smokehouse and Southern Kitchen were gone!
I got a lot of great items this time around. I found a totally awesome "mom" bag that is not only reversible but has plenty of big pockets and lots of carrying options. It's the perfect bag!!! I bought Miss P some cute handmade underwear. Found some cute scrabble like coasters that spell Miss P's name. Bought a few jars of honey because you can never have enough honey! And Miss P managed to finagle some chocolates out of daddy from a Brazilian vendor. Overall, it was a fun trip!!
As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen. If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public. Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me. Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....
