Disneyland #19

Penny is almost to the 20 visit mark! I'd say she is one very lucky little girl. We headed to Disneyland at a leisurely pace and arrived around 11am.
Today, we entered the park by horse drawn carriage. We caught it at the beginning of Main Street and it took us to Sleeping Beauty's Castle.
After disembarking the carriage we decided to find ourselves some princesses. We found 3! Princess Ariel, Snow White, and Princess Tiana, one of Penny's favorites.
After meeting the princesses we went and found ourselves some ice cream and sat and ate our treat at Mickey's Magical Map, an awesome stage show that is just new at Disneyland.
The show was excellent, very entertaining with cool hard to find characters like Sorcerer Mickey, Mulan, Pocahantas, and King Louie. When the show ended a bunch of confetti fired out from the rafters and Penny and I have funny playing around with it.
Next we went to "Its A Small World" and Penny and I couldn't stand the singing anymore.
Just kidding. Penny loves that ride. Isn't her Elvis impression really good? Afterward we rode the storybook ride which Penny wasn't too happy about. She was clearly hungry so we headed over to Tomorrowland Terrace. Penny was happy once again when she got her chocolate milk.
After lunch we all learned how to become Jedi's at Jedi Training. Penny really wanted to participate but you have to be 4 years old. Soon Penny. Soon. She loved the sword's so much we had to cave and get her one at the gift shop. While we were there we checked out other Jedi merchandise.
We tried to hit up the Tiki Room but someone wanted ice cream so we left the Tiki Room and headed to Gibson Girl and we all got ice cream. Penny even stole the rest of my Mint Chocolate Chip Cone. See the picture, two cones!
Always a good time!

Behind Door Number One

Have you ever watched those TV Game shows where they have a couple of doors and behind one is a grand prize? Well, this weekend the hub and I found out what was behind our Door #1. The hubby and I are starting the beginning phases of landscaping our backyard. Our first step, was to clean out the area behind our garage. When we moved in, there was about 2 feet of walking space behind our garage the rest of the area was covered in vines. Vines were growing on the roof and generally it was a mess. Not wanting the vines to take over the roof, we I started to clear out the vines last fall. But after we cut a million vines with only a pair of clippers we gave up and decided to clean out the rest in the spring. Spring came around and we didn't do much until one day when I was sick a few weeks ago, I ran into our gardener. I showed him the mess and asked if he knew of anyone who could come clean it out. I could tell he was actually, quite happy for me to broach the subject of ...

Surfing Goat Diary

We left the store and headed to the Surfing Goat Diary, again, this was a second trip for us but what was different this time is that we scheduled an hour long tour. Last time we arrive right before closing and were rushed. We spent a fair amount of time there exploring before the tour. We tried their cheesecake, we met the cats and dogs that roamed the place, we played in the playground, we pet and fed the baby goats that were penned up, and pursued the little store. Penny was eager to get her hands on the chocolate goat milk truffles. I must admit they did look good. I had my eyes on a t-shirt and a mug. Our tour started at 3:30pm that day and we met all the goats and learned all about the farm. But the most exciting part of the tour was getting the opportunity to milk the goats. Penny was quite a good milker. A friend later reminded me that Penny was breastfed (wink, wink). By the time the tour ended we were extremely hot. Maui was hot but also humid. We were ready to...

My Favorite Gourmet Trucks

As of last night, I have now tried 18 food trucks! Only 60 more to go! My friends, Krueger and Kristy joined me at 55 Degree Wine in Atwar Village to try the always busy Grilled Cheese Truck! I have run into the truck a few times now but something has always prevented me from trying their food. Mostly the really, really long lines!! This time the hour wait wasn't so bad with two girls to gossip with. By the time we got to the front we were ready to execute our food plan. Kristy took lead and placed an order for 3 sandwiches (the brie, the mac-n-cheese and the rib meat) plus the dessert sandwich and some tator tots!!! I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the sandwich I went for, the Harvest sandwich but the 3 sandwiches we got more than made up for everything. I was glad to try this truck with 2 girls because we split the sandiches in 3rds which was awesome because I got to try a variety of their sandwiches. Now I must add the Grilled Cheese Truck to my list of fa...
