It's always hubby's goal to get out of the house at least once. Twice if he is lucky. Penny is behaving better and better at restaurants. Its still work believe me but with the help of a certain "TB" aka iPad it sometimes keeps Penny occupied until the meal arrives. For our one outing I suggested we go to Eden's Burger Bar which I had bookmarked on YELP. I had been wanting to try it for a long time and today was the perfect day. So the three of us drove a mile and a half down the road to get our grub on. We were the first patrons of the day. The waitress saw our toddler and seated us in the back corner which was fine with me because it allowed Penny to watch her movies on the iPad. Penny had fun playing with a painting app much to hubby's dismay as she was enjoying erasing a picture of Mickey that hubby drew. Penny enjoyed sitting in a big girl chair all by herself. There menu was delightful to read as there were so many good sounding burgers. It was hard to choose one but we ended up picking the Truffle Burger and the Mediteranean Burger, truffle fries and a Cesar salad. The food was delicious but I made the mistake of trying hubby's first and wished I would have gotten what he ordered. Not that my burger was bad its just he always orders the best tasting thing on the menu!!!
After an enjoyable lunch we found a playground we hadn't been to that was near by and let Penny run around for an hour. It was a pretty nice playground with two jungle gyms and swings. Penny had a great time sliding down slides and climbing the rock wall they had.
As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen. If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public. Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me. Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....
