We figured the day after Memorial Day wouldn't be too crowded a day to visit Disneyland and thank goodness our guess turned out right! We hadn't been to Disneyland since Ms. P's first birthday party back in December, so we were itching to make a visit. When my brother, his wife and two kids came out for a visit in May it was one of the things on their very short to do list. Ms. P's cousin, Will had been to DisneyWorld back when Ms. P was in momma's womb at 8 weeks, so he was excited to return to the fun place and meet Mickey at Disneyland. Lila had never been to either the Florida or California parks so this was her very first time! I bought the three kids matching sweaters and shirts. They looked so adorable. We knew with three small children we couldn't see everything so we stuck to Fantasyland and ToonTown for most of the day. We had a great time! We even snuck in the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean for the adults later in the day. Ms. P her first balloon which had the distinction of being the most expensive balloon ever purchased at $8. We ate dinner at The Plaza Inn and finally tried their famous chicken dinner which was soooo good! We even visited the Tiki Room and Papa had his Dole Whip. Ms. P's was so excited in the Tiki Room. She absolutely loved the talking birds! We ended the day with Will and Uncle Matt going on the rocket ships in Tomorrowland. We stayed till about 8pm which was later than any of thought we would make it with 3 kids 3 years old and under! Truly a fun day!

As a little girl I would look on my mom’s arm and wonder why she had such a weird mark near her shoulder. A few days ago, as the warm solution penetrated my bloodstream, I started to cry remembering my mom’s mark. The nurse asked me if I was okay and I told her I was so incredibly happy. As a diabetic I was stressed never knowing if I was doing enough to avoid it but also, keeping some semblance of life in doing outdoor things. I cried because I am incredibly grateful to the SCIENCE that made this possible in only a year. Less time for me to worry about my only kiddo should the worse happen. If ur on the fence...I’ve worked in entertainment for over 20 years and I’ve seen first hand how easy celebrities influence the public. Some do good and others well...I’m happy to have a little bit of the gracious Dolly Parton with me. Scientists on the other hand, very rarely get the recognition for their years of study, years of research and expertise contributing to (wo)mankind....
